Like Micky Adams, he wouldn't have been my first choice for a number of reasons, mainly that it would at the very least initially split the fans.

However, he is the choice of our owner, he's here, so as ever I'll get behind the Blades with him in charge.

Having heard him speak I get the impression that:

- He speaks very well
- He is determined and passionate
- He knows what he is letting himself in for
- He's desperate to prove people wrong
- He's very much set out his stall to give us "strong, entertaining and winning" football

I understand people's thoughts, if not agreeing with the ferocity of some of them. I understand that people need to make themselves heard, even if I think they could have done it better.

What I won't understand, is if people start the season and wish to continue being destructive.

He's here now, lets at the very least tentatively give the man a chance! Judge him on results, not his name and past.

All I have asked -twice - is, how do you know this? In the absence of a coherent answer and in light of your latest suggestion that it is merely 'your view' on the protest, I'm left with no alternative but to assume that it's something you have made up to suit your own particular feelings on the subject.

Top post Pinch. Spot on. The most embarassing thing is that photo was in the national press. Coops took that from the Guardian website. I showed it my missus and she did not know whether to laugh or cry. She did comment on what an intelligent, articulate bunch they were though. I was debating on here about Wilson and most fans were saying that it was his record, not his Wednesday connections. The numpty exhibit one (the second person on Radio Sheff) cam on and said 'once a pigg, always a piggy'. Listening to Radio Sheffield throughout the afternoon and hearing Wilson out furthered my embarassment. Then seeing that gem of a photo was almost enough to push me over the edge, As I stated in another thread, yesterday was a sad day to be a Blade. But not for the appointment of Wilson, only for those numpties in the car park truly embarassing our support. I can only hope that the rest of the word realises it is a minority.

Some fans hate Wilson? Unfortunately its because of him being a pig rather than a shit Manager. Isn't that the ultimate case of getting priorities mixed up? He isn't a pig and his past is his past. Why is the anger aimed at him? He is just another face in McCabes great view of SUFC. Anyone read the mans view on fans not agreeing with his selection policy on Managers? Thats what people should really be getting angry at. Robson, Blackwell, Speed, Adams are all people who helped get us relegated in one form or another. McCabe however is the man at the helm each time.

Disagreeing over Wilson being the Manager is a mile away from standing in a car park like a set of spoiled brats who didn't get their Transformers for Christmas but got Barbie instead. Its small minded and only makes the supporters look bad. Most people I've been speaking to who are non blades can't believe how small minded we are. Its one thing protesting over a poor manager (I didn't agree with the treatment of Robson by the way) but protesting before the guys actually played a game? Thats a new low for me.

Its been said before, but surely the irony of these people protesting and putting anti-pig slogans on flags etc in front of a statue of the great Derek Dooley isn't lost on the majority.

The media have a field day and the rest of the footballing world looks on and chuckles at the comedy show that is Sheffield United FC stooping to yet another low.

I hope DW is given a chance, he wouldn't have been my choice but as others have said, unfortunately i have no say in that decision and unless you can come up with a few million to buy out MrMcCabe neither will the vocal minority. I'll be there supporting Sheffield United, as I have for the last 40 odd years. My biggest fear is that we'll have blades attacking blades on the kop, as we did towards the end of Blackwells tenure. We need to create a positive atmosphere at BDTBL that is supportive of the blades, any hostility should be saved for the opposition, or the ref .
