Protest

Paul Hart got 10 points from 13 games. He took them from out of the relegation places (which is where Swindon were when Wilson resigned) to bottom of the league.

I know. I got the wrong end of the stick, I was tired and angry last night I wasn't writing with my head. But in the end he walked away from a club in as much turmoil as we were and are, that doesn't give me a high opinion of him. What happens if the going gets tough here?

We send the Mastermind candidates down to the carpark for another shamefully embarrassing protest?

He knows what the score is here. At Swindon he built a promotion challenging team out of a relegation threatened team in just 2 years, and then saw it sold. I doubt that was part of the deal when he went there.

I love the pig in the pig shirt, he turns up everywhere ;) think he also has a twitter page...

we shall keep on protest until wilson goes because we never get over this until Wilson goes packing for good.

I was there with another 300-400 people.

The fact that people felt that strongly about his appointment, they turned up at short notice on a friday dinnertime to attend shows you all you need to know

Didn't he once say how much he despised our club?

For that reason alone, I wouldn't let him anywhere near our club and if the man had any morals or integrity, he wouldn't have accepted an interview, or applied for the job.

As for McCabe, the fellow has gone right down in my estimation. I used to defend him to the hilt. Thoses days are over and if he had any proper affinity to the fans, he wouldn't have interviewed Wilson, but of course he hasn't has he?

Wilson has a similar track record to Adams and yet Adams is sacked to be replaced by Wilson. What a joke!

On top of that, an ex pig player and an ex pig manager.

Disgraceful decision by McCabe and the board. Instead of uniting the fans and club, they've managed to do the complete opposite

And when Wilson is gone a couple of months into the season, we all know whos fault it will be. You can see it now "we never gave him a chance" "He was never goner win the fans over" Well right, so why did you interview him and employ him knowing that was goner happen?

Why? Because you the reason you employed him was financial

Why? Because you wanted a yes man

There are no other logical reasons for taking the decision you have McCabe

Taking his time to make sure sure the right decision is made! Yeah right!

I wonder what the decision would have been had he made it straight away?

The board and McCabe are so out of touch with the fanbase it borders on clueless!

What a sorry day in our history

Well said absolutely spot on there.

I am glad people were able to get down there to protest today because the message really does not enter McCabe's head.

I mean maybe we will all eat humble pie as we storm the League and take the title but I do think we have more chance of moving the club to the moon (McCabe would probably see that as a sound move as well).

Ahhh I just really want to swear big time now I am that fucked off at this appointment.

Alienating the fans = job well done

when it comes to the first match will they all turn up booing?cos if so,stay away.
We need all the support we can get and its VITAL that we hit the ground running in the new season.
A stadium full of jeers and boos on the opening day will set us in fine form.
ffs.

We already knew we had a few dozen brainless numpties amongst our 'support'. You really didn't need to embarrass us in public to prove it.

So do you think Wilson is a good appointment then Pinchy?

Brownie i am proud of you doing the protest if we keep protest or not buy season ticket then actions will need to be taken to get rid of wilson who is a dam joke i never like him.

dont belive the chairman words what he said to my mate about di matteo and who do you think will leave blades nice to hear from you cheers

any clips on youtube RE ...........protest.

Certainly mate. Not in The Sherwood though eh? I'm a founder member of the Real Ale and Proper Football Alliance [RAPFA].

I must say it's very odd to have become part of 'The Establishment' after years of militance. I feel like the Nelson Mandela of the board. Can I bring my mates JD and Cooperblade?

That's a complete non-sequitur I'm afraid. I was opposed to Quickfix Micky just as strongly as you seem to be to Wilson. I never thought to organise a public protest before he was given at least a chance to prove his inadequacy.

You have no idea whether Danny Wilson will manage this club well, badly or indifferently. Chris Morgan thinks he's great: Pembo seems happy. Do you and your amoeba mates have some greater insight that they lack?

I would not have appointed Wilson: Coppell would be my choice BUT he is an advocate of proper football and has had success as well as disappointments (all managers have). I certainly welcome his appointment in preference to the likes of Robins, Reid, Wilder, Boothroyd and many others.

If anyone wants to go down, i would suggest that 11.30 would be a good meeting time, as the news camera will be there. I'm definitely there, and how many others are up for it?

Quite a few piggies attended the protest too. Made United an absolute laughing stock.THANKS for sod all

That's an interesting point you make about needing all the support we can get, because it's absolutely true. So why has McCabe alienated the fanbase with vast numbers threatening to return their season ticket?

I do not advocate booing. I hate the thought, but ask yourself, who's decsion was it that has brought this sorry, sorry mess about?

It was brave of you to turn up and tell them exactly what you thought of them..... oh but you didn't though, did you? I did half expect you and your chums to come riding over the hill, brandishing your 'keyboard swords' yelling your war cry... "WHAT ABOUT PIGGY McGUIRE..!!!" But alas, twas not to be. Maybe next time, eh?

Did they? How do you know? Were you there? Do you like having your belly tickled? Thought so...

Amoeba mates? Fuck me, the board genius has taken offence, only single celled fucker on here is you sonny. The lads who turned up today were "True Blades", they care about the club and aren't afraid to show it.

You on the other hand just sit behind your keyboard acting the intellectual. Bit sad really, you remind me of James Stewart in "The Rear Window"

I'm not having a dig in the slightest Brownie, but where were the 300-400 people hiding?

I keep seeing the number rising in every news report or mention, but unless a couple of hundred turned up after we did, hid when we looked out of the window and then went home before we came out to the car park.... there was no way there was 300-400 people there.

Foxy, sorry if this is mentioned elsewhere. WHat did you think to Wilson, do you think he is strongwilled enough to do this job under the circumstances?

Like Micky Adams, he wouldn't have been my first choice for a number of reasons, mainly that it would at the very least initially split the fans.

However, he is the choice of our owner, he's here, so as ever I'll get behind the Blades with him in charge.

Having heard him speak I get the impression that:

- He speaks very well
- He is determined and passionate
- He knows what he is letting himself in for
- He's desperate to prove people wrong
- He's very much set out his stall to give us "strong, entertaining and winning" football

I understand people's thoughts, if not agreeing with the ferocity of some of them. I understand that people need to make themselves heard, even if I think they could have done it better.

What I won't understand, is if people start the season and wish to continue being destructive.

He's here now, lets at the very least tentatively give the man a chance! Judge him on results, not his name and past.

Your puerile contribution says a great deal about you; not me. You have, by pure chance, stumbled upon a single accurate statement amidst the tiresome drivel.

Modesty will not permit me to elucidate further.

JB, I don't think you're being realistic. People are SUFC fans, not Danny Wilson fans.

Like Pinchy, I wouldn't have chosen Wilson but I still think there's plenty to like about the guy. I cannot see anyone on planet earth launching a counter protest for an unproven new manager - we're all sceptics. However, if at the first home game next season, the folk around me start behaving that way, I'll have my say then. And if I saw Wilson in town I'd wish him well.

And I reckon I'm not in such a tiny minority on that score.

Top post Pinch. Spot on. The most embarassing thing is that photo was in the national press. Coops took that from the Guardian website. I showed it my missus and she did not know whether to laugh or cry. She did comment on what an intelligent, articulate bunch they were though. I was debating on here about Wilson and most fans were saying that it was his record, not his Wednesday connections. The numpty exhibit one (the second person on Radio Sheff) cam on and said 'once a pigg, always a piggy'. Listening to Radio Sheffield throughout the afternoon and hearing Wilson out furthered my embarassment. Then seeing that gem of a photo was almost enough to push me over the edge, As I stated in another thread, yesterday was a sad day to be a Blade. But not for the appointment of Wilson, only for those numpties in the car park truly embarassing our support. I can only hope that the rest of the word realises it is a minority.

Did you have a greater insight than all the managers that have picked Montgomery or Quinn or any of the players who have played with or against them and lavished praise.

What is you sad infantile compulsion with nicknames ? Its the sort of thing an amoeba would do.
