Two dozen protestors there according to RS. Perhaps people weren't so angry after all.

What, because most people are in work? Are you suggesting from the posts you have seen on any forum or news item that there are more fans ok with this than not, or does it only count when you go to the Lane?

For the sake of TV, turnout is everything and then some.

Wait on, telling us that we actually mean when we say something else isn't patronising?

Telling someone I dont believe an opinion is telling them what they actually mean?

Have I not the right to challenge an opinion?

Hold on sunshine. You were insisting i was naive earlier :)

Does that make me the black kettle? Instant irony is such a wonderful thing :)

There's a difference between someone saying "I have a view" and you pretty much saying they're lying, to saying you don't agree with their opinion.

True Blades are clearly NOT at the Lane.

Ha! I like that one. Oh and by the way Swiss, I didnt regard my disbelieving comment as patronising but if it came across that way I genuinely apologise and am prepared to retract that statement - I wouldnt want to risk getting my wrist slapped for something so trivial.

Personally I think the accusation at me is nonsense but I hope there is no misunderstanding.

Ok like I said to swiss, I didnt wish it to seem patronising. If it did I apologise. What I dont believe (and I stand by it) is that the pig thing is not the reason for the majority. If swiss or yourself are adamant its not then I believe you. If someone told me they didnt believe me it would be met with a 'suit yourself shrug of the shoulders' - I reserve the right not believe everything someone tells me but I guess I will have to be careful how I put that across.

Fair enough. And as I say, it's done now.

I'm not happy in the slightest and I've given my reasons elsewhere.

It's time to get behind the man. Not the chairman though, he's done for me.

And Wilson may be a success, but I still think the decision is dramatically out of touch with SUFC supporters and shows a lack of respect for us.

Lowest I've felt as a Blade since relegation from the Prem.

Can't disagree with that, this reaction was inevitable whether we agree with it or not. I think now the announcement is official the process of healing the animosity can being (hopefully)!

Danny Wilson is now the manager of Sheffield United like it or not and will get my full backing, i am not pleased with his appointment, far from it, but whats done is done and the blame if any does not lie with Danny Wilson but with the out of touch Kevin McCabe who has just given us another big kick in the bollocks along with a fuck what you lot think mentality.

just been for a wander through the car-park, looks like there were about 100-odd there, couple of half arsed chants of "what a waste of money".

How? The only thing that would make me happy now is

a. we don't sell most of our 1st team players or youth
b. we win our 1st 3 out of 4 games.

There will be more damage to come when Wilson sells players we don't want to leave

The situation is simple for me.....

If he's a success he'll be a hero

If he's a failure he'll be a villain

Same with every other manager. The only difference is he's under more pressure right from the start so he has to get to the former very quickly!

I think it is a fantastic decision to appoint a quality manager who thrives in the lower leagues. Promotion here we come.

Which is exactly why it was such a ludicrous decision to appoint him knowing it would get this kind of reaction. Wilson is on a hiding to nothing. I kind of feel sorry for the bloke.

Thanks for the apology SCB, but it wasn't necessary, I know you don't believe me, but nowt i can do to change that. :)

I wasn't aiming my True Blades comment at you, if anything it was to stir up Micalijo from his slumber and also a dig at myself for supporting it :)

Up the Blades, we're just not at the lane :)

Oh swiss but now I do believe you!!!! Why oh why wont you believe me? :D

Seriously though, I didnt want you to think I was suggesting you're a liar (I'm honestly not the type), it was just that I felt many were hiding this sentiment. If you're genuinely against DW for other reasons then of course I accept that. My comments were mainly aimed at those who are OBVIOUSLY against him for that reason. I'm happy to accept your reasons are different and need no more convincing. What I shouldn't have done was direct my argument at you.....I hope no hard feelings.

nope but if he thought he was disliked now....

I'd like to think that he won`t be blamed for any sales. I'd like to think that we are aware of whose decision it will be to sell any players and will take that into account.

I fear I may be optimistic there...

Unless of course, having sold Slew, McGuire etc etc, he comes out and states he was under no pressure to sell them.*

*Assuming we don`t get something daft like £50m for them...

And which of the silky-skilled stars who so sublimely relegated us do 'we' want to keep?

No. We will be blamed for the sales. It will be our fault for finally deciding we've taken enough from McCabe and for not turning up in our droves to get behind this exciting, unifying new manager.

Bank on it.

Being willing to sell anybody and state it was his decision might be a pre-requisite for getting the job.

Like I said SCB, you don't know me so you're not able to make a proper judgement, if you did then you'd know. But thats not your fault, its the fault of McCabe for not bringing us closer together to create an unbreakable bond :)

No hard feelings here mate. Its all good, apart from the obvious, but you didn't appoint wilson... did you ?

Wow
