Sanctimonious or more broad minded than some other posters on here? The one thing I like about pinchy's posts are that he's not bogged down by sentiment or out-dated culture. He wants to see us get up to speed with the modern game, using methods and ideas the way other much more successful teams do it and to be open-minded about those tasked with achieving that!

Danny Wilson may not be the answer and he certainly wasn't my first choice but for the sake of trying to make the best of what we have and move forward.....I prefer to sit on Pinchy's side of the fence. Fuck tribalist bollocks(the fact that the protest has only rounded up 150 shows you its a loud minority),.....let's give the guy a chance to show us some proper football. His sides certainly pass the ball more than any of his predecessors' and that's a fact, no matter what anyone thinks of his record - so I'm afraid it can be rationalised.

That's not what Bristol and Swindon supporters say.

Both have said that's it negative football with big boots to the channels.
 
For me I am disappointed with Danny Wilson, not because he's ex-piggy like others have said, he's from Wigan or something isn't he? On the Wiki link someone put on here it said Northern Irish born in wigan so it's not like he grew up supporting the piggys like adams grew up a blade.

He's a manager on his way down, he must have shit his pants with surprise at even being mentioned for the blades job. Really his next job would be more likely 4th tier or non-league. I think McCabe might have seen Holloway at blackpool who by all accounts was washed up before taking that job and thinking we might be as lucky. Fat chance.

I, like many others have waited and waited to hear who we appoint with the nagging doubt in the back of my mind that I'm extremely likely to be disappointed but I'm still gutted when it actually becomes reality.

This is like waiting all year for christmas then santa kicking you in the bollocks when he turns up

Odd you should say that. I lived in Bristol for three years and have about half a dozen mates who support City. They were all of the opinion that Danny Wilson's side played some decent stuff and that he is remembered as an unlucky manager that got them close to promotion.

I hear similar things from a Swindon fan I know.
 
Swindon fan i work with said he played some excellent stuff there, until the board sold their best 3 players and decimated the team

That's not what happened :uhoh:

We had a few good loanees who left after the final (Danny Rose, Steven Darby etc) plus Billy Paynter's contract was up. He replaced them with w**k loan signings, awful strikers, and sold our captain (Gordon Greer) to Brighton.

Basically he got lucky one season with aformentioned loans really standing out and a couple of career-best seasons from mediocre players. Then got found out the season after.

Austin leaving in January obviously didn't help but the writing was on the wall before that. He changed a team that was close to getting promoted into one that only avoided a club record of 19 games without a win by one match. In the space of 9 months.

The fact is I know half a dozen Bristol City supporters, four of which have been season ticket holders for about 10 years give or take. They regard Danny Wilson as a decent manager who encourages passing football. He wasnt my choice and I think there were better candidates but that's what they tell me and as far as Bristol City is concerned they are a very good authority on it.

I'm not interesting in trying to convince someone of a manager I didn't even want.....I'm not even sure why you're tryng to convince me. I'm offering a balanced opinion of him (something some people seem incapable of). Perhaps you're a pig Houso.....you claim to know more about Danny Wilson than I do.
