Not the appointment of Wilson.

All this vitrol towards a man whop once managed a team from the same city as us. A porfessional that managed the team that our cousins, uncles, aunties and friends support.

Many have already pointed out the hypocrisy. Will you all be clapping when Maguire is sold for the highest bid? Forget the promising young talent, he supports Wednesday!* Did Brownie and the rest of you numpties sit down on your hands when Alan Quinn scored the winner against Wednesday in 2005? Did we boo Geary and Bromby out of the club. What about Porterfield?

I think the protest is simply PATHETIC. What sad, little lives you lead. Brownie's hypocrticial 'look at me, look at me' posts have reached a new level. Now this has snowballed and all the numpties will be running down to the Lane. It is not very often I am embarrassed to be a Blade, but this protest makes me so. I suppose you always meet/see/hear one numpty at every United game (the one shouting over your soldier that the team is shit when we are winning or complaining that the part time support is pissing him off when 30k fans have made Bramall Lane a fortress) and this will be the couple of hundred who make it down to the car park today. Good on you lads  I hope it rains.

Before anyone comes back with 'Wilson is shit'. Just have a look at his record. It is not brilliant, but it is not shit. In fact it looks remarkably similar to the record of Micky Adams. This is the Micky Adams that a certain Mr Brown was saying needed more time. The man who shamefully relegated when we seemed out of danger and is officially the worst manager in the history of SUFC!

* Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowlder and Jamie Carragher all supported Everton growing up.

What worries me most about all this is I actually agree with Olli.

I'm off for a lie down...

Brownie's hypocrticial 'look at me, look at me' posts have reached a new level.

Fantastic post.

I suggest a counter-protest first day of the season. We can all gather to support SUFC and cheer them on to victory.

I couldn't agree more Olle. Once again you've proved to be the voice of reason. Well said pal.

No he hasn't. He's basically painting all blades fans that don't want Wilson, as complete numpties that only don't want him because of his Wednesday connections.

That is completely disingenuous. He's a manager on his way down that must have expected his next appointment to come in league 2 or non-league. That's why i don't want him.

Is it not the car-park protestors that are being portrayed (quite rightly) as numpties?

You genuinely believe that's not the reason the majority of those people dont want him????! If so, how naive.

I think if we all take a step back and "put the boot on the other foot" as it were and think about one of our ex managers/players going over to the dark side of the city and managing them......turning them into a force and flying up the league - we'd be gutted having to listen to all those jibes of "look he's an owl now - legend" "he's seen the light" "always was an owl at heart" and all that sort of stuff.

Olle - great post

Great stuff Ollie. Hard to stress how embarrassing some of Brown's posts on this have been but you've had a good go pal. Keep it up.

What do you mean SCB of course they're not protesting about the fact he has Wednesday associations.

This is a highly cerebral protest based on Wilson's repeated failure to utilise a holding midfielder and a zonal marking system!!!

Is it not the car-park protestors that are being portrayed (quite rightly) as numpties?

No, it's everyone who's displaying vitriol. Is that not the point of his post?

Why are they numpties when they feel that they've got nothing to look forward to for the next three years, because we've appointed a manager on the way down?

No doubt they will be a few idiots down their that are their only because of the Wednesday connections, and i've also no doubt that the media will only choose to run with interviews from those as well.

I'm not that fussed that he managed the pigs or Barnsley. I'm genuinely concerned that he is mediocre at best.

I'll actually admit to liking him when he was a Wednesday player - I hated some of the namby-pamby fashionable fancy football tags that they were given at the time, but I thought he brought some honest graft to their midfield and got on with his job without fuss. I liked him as Barnsley manager. I thought he had been sold a pup when he took over as pigs' manager.

However, since then he seems to have done the rounds and never really shone. Either he's bad at picking clubs (another hum-dinger with us then) or he's not that great a manager and Barnsley were lucky.

He gets my support and his appointment heralds a grudging acceptance that we're not that good anymore.

Why is it naive? Just because you've got a different opinion? Well i must say i find that opinion a little one-dimensional.

Just have a look at his record. It is not brilliant, but it is not shit. In fact it looks remarkably similar to the record of Micky Adams.

Adams was sacked as he wasn't deemed good enough to gain promotion from League 1, if we are just basing the decision on previous records, why would Danny Wilson be good enough to gain promotion when his record is similar to Adams?

If he was not connected in any way to the pigs then those people who are not entirely convinced that he's a good managerial appointment (due to his record) would not be down the lane protesting against his appointment.

(I don't think that appointing Robins would not have brought out demonstrations in the car park or all this anger on here)

I think his wendy connections tip the balance for those people who are not happy of his managerial record to (a valid argument in my opinion) - he's shit bla bla bla sack..... he's wendy.

Sorry olle but i don't agree. How can you accept this appointment ?. It for me has nothing to do with him managing and playing for the otherside of sheffield it is the fact he is a v average manager out of work who is obviously yet again the cheap option. Wilson is on a no lose situation no doubt there will not be any clauses in his contract to say if we do go up or finish at least top ten you will be given the boot with no compo. Mr Wilson will be rubbing his hands at the prospect of a nice little pay out in the next 12 months. His record however is average at best, ok he took Barnsley to the big time back in the mid-late 90's football has changed some what since that, then managed pigs did fuck all, managed bristol city didn't have his contract renewed after failing to get promoted so did fuck all, managed MK dons took them down in his second season having survived his first due to Wrexhams point deduction, Took Hartlepool from league 2 to league 1 then left wow, Kept swindon up in league 1 then took them to the playoff final lost like a certain Mr Blackwell, he then resigned this season when the going got tough.

Shit appointment simple as that. He wasn't even a good player

As far as I'm aware, the Wigan born Wilson grew up as a Manchester United supporter, and as far as I'm aware probably still is. Apart from playing and managing across the city he has never declared allegience to the darkside.

So if Adams and Wilson have similar records why wasn't there a car park demo when Adams got appointed?

It's a good point ZMF. Though it could be argued that Adam's stock was on the rise again.

And it was mid way through the season, when adams was managing a Port Vale side top 2 in league 2 not relegation zone with Swindon ready to walk out on them in there time of need.

Basically, crap manager + pig doesn't really inspire confidence does it?

You genuinely believe that's not the reason the majority of those people dont want him????! If so, how naive.

Yes it is his record is simply shite at best.

I know because Robins has managed 2 clubs and done the best he can at those 2 clubs.

My problem is that McCabe teased us with the RDM talk, has spouted the likes of Hughton, and then gone for a mediocre manager who just happens to be an ex-Pig player and manager. What the flying feck is that all about?

Unfortunately, if this does come to pass I have to accept it. I'm very unhappy about it though, I think McCabe has completely sold us down the river.

Just when you think we have bottomed out.....along comes our Kevin with another cracking peice of judgement.
