Undoubtedly Leeds are the most geared up for the Prem, can keep a decent tempo up for 90 mins, get up and down the pitch quickly and have the quality at this level to win games.

Whether it is enough quality for the Premier League I don’t really know. Difficult to think they’d score any of those goals tonight against Prem opposition, who will be equally at a decent tempo for the full 90 mins. We just ran out of steam at 70 mins and it was only a matter of time
A half decent premier team on that first half showing would have put the game to bed!!!

Neither , both Burnley ourselves will drop more point , it may go to the wire , a team can come from nowhere and spoil the party it’s just how football rocks so sit back and enjoy the roller coaster ride ⚔️
No they can't we are 8 clear of 4th and 19 clear of 5th and 6th with 12 to go , that's 3 games ahead of Sunderland and 7 ahead of West brom and Blackburn so if we win 5 of 12 then West brom & Blackburn would have to win 11 of 12 and draw the other to catch us, and Sunderland have to win 8 of 12 that's based on just 5 wins, and that's not including any of the others coming from nowhere

At least we battled not like at their place . Truth is they are by miles the best footballing team in this division. What fucks me off is the moaners on here honestly. From where we started end of last season with injuries to key players and we are still in contention for autos . Get a grip . They sold out this fixture at theirs we didn’t tonight go figure

The same premium quality players that they came down with? 🧐
They were jammy in not repeating our 9th finish then getting relegated in the 2nd season. They got a lucky win in the last game of the season at Brentford to stay up. They couldn't defy gravity the following season.

I imagine most if not all Blades and Burnley fans realistically know there's next to fuck all chance of staying up. Leeds will make a fist of it.

As for rest of season, let's enjoy the scrap for 2nd. I do think Burnley will pip us but the chance of a day out at Wembley again actually excites me 🙂

I'm don't think Leeds will even stay up next season, even if these new financial rules about spending a % of your revenue come in, which would give Leeds and Sunderland an advantage over us and Burnley owing to their higher revenue, ticket sales etc.

All of the top 4 are easily better than Southampton, Leeds are probably better than Leicester and maybe on par with Ipswich, we're as good as Leicester but worse than Ipswich.

The scary thing is, that Wolves (only 5 pts clear) are probably better than all of the top 4 and to have a chance of staying up next season, we'd have to be better than them.

Easier said than done but a lot can change between now and next season.

It’s all about money innit? To compete over a season in the Prem you need half a dozen international quality players. They cost about $300k a week now.

As I sit back and try to analyze our team, let me ask this question to the great fans of our beloved Blades:

Truthfully, who from the current squad can make it in the Prem if we are lucky enough to see the season out in 2nd place?

For me, only Cooper and maybe Vini, BBD and Gus.

Given the inconsistency of our season, we would need a major overhaul and a huge spending budget to even have a chance of making it.

Leeds will finish 1st

We may finish 2nd

Burnley may finish 2nd

But all 3 will come back down next season whoever it is that goes up. The money that you need to spend to compete is impossible with PSR rules.

3 teams that went up last season are in the bottom 3, 3pts adrift and cannot buy a win, and last season the 3 best teams in this league all came back down. English football is a bit of a mess.

This is what we know.

This year 2 teams will be automatically promoted from the EFL Championship to EPL and one other team who finishes between 3rd and 6th in the EFL Championship will also be promoted to the EPL via the playoffs.

That’s it, that’s all we know.

You seem to think we might be promoted to the EPL in May 2025 and if we are, we will be relegated from the EPL in May 2026.

FFS enjoy the ride, I haven’t started thinking about QPR yet.
