I wouldn't be surprised to see Utd have a go at taking BD on loan next season - LCB is still a big gap with JOC seemingly still a long way off being fit; Davies now has his Prem salary and he won't be getting many minutes next season barring another injury crisis at LFC. The recruitment team at Utd were obviously admirers of him do may well still be keen.

Perhaps the only thing against it, assuming BD would consider a loan back to the Champ, is Utd preferring a different loan from LFC e.g. Harvey Elliott.

It was a signing like us signing kean Bryan for Liverpool - merely needed a body in case of emergencies.

if he’s not happy completely out of the picture there next season when everyone got you can see them taking a few million profit and selling him on. Probably to a top end / newly promoted club.

might depend if it was a club or wilder target I guess

You aren’t limited to one loan from a team in the Championship as far as I’m aware.

This may have been a Wilder target, rather than a Van Winckel target, who knows, bit if it's the former then I would suspect he'll be more likely to join West Brom than us. Also Robinson in the Championship may well be considered to be able to do a decent job and there's RND coming back into the building.

Liverpool could be set to sell Ben Davies just six months after beating Sheffield United to his signing during the January transfer window.
Davies was a well-known and long-term target for then Blades boss, Chris Wilder

However, since that move to Anfield, Davies has failed to make an appearance. This, despite the Reds having a host of injuries in central defence. And according to ESPN, Liverpool could now be open to offers to sell Davies this summer.

Would be a decent loan while we see how and when JoC comes back as he’s unlikely to be back and able to play any major part in the season.
Only question mark for me would be if we think RND can play LCB, if he can then Davies would be a blocker to his progression.

The only thing is Chris is now gone.

I swear Klopp only signed him to piss Wilder off.

One thing we don’t need is a left footed centre half

We currently have Jackie long throw fit and under contract. That’s it.
We’ve no idea at this moment if RND would be considered even if I personally would like to see it, and Bryan hasn’t committed to a deal.
Again while I don’t think we’ll do it Davies would be one of a maximum of 2 who could play centre half in the championship in a back 4. Many disagree with me, but I don’t think Egan can play the high line SJ uses so I’d say none.
So all things considered we’re certainly short of quality and adaptability in our back line if we’re looking to either play a back four or dont think RND is upto the LcB role immediately.
It should be considered even if not progressed.

Whilst there's a good argument that Robinson and RND give us options in this department, I'd be delighted if our budget allowed us to bring this lad in, loan or permanent.

One of the contributing factors to why we got relegated was not having a left footed centre half that was dominant in the air. We conceded far too many goals in the air at the back last season. This in the EPL where the ball is on the ground more often than not. In the Championship we will be subjected much more to aerial bombardments as most teams have a Robinson long throw specialist in the team.

JOC's height and strength were the reason why the defence was so solid the year before. Playing full backs at LCB such as Robinson and Stevens failed miserably and will do do again if we use Norrington Davies. We pursued Davies because we were aware of our failings in this area. Rumour has it he's being paid £60k a week to sit on the side lines at Liverpool so I doubt he's an viable option if JOC struggles to start the season.

I would much prefer is to buy Jake Cooper from the Wall but I doubt we'll be looking to pay big bucks. Another option may be the young serb at Monaco on loan. Pavlovic 6 foot 4 played 7 times for the national team. While ever we neglect this area we will concede unnecessary goals due to a lack of height and aerial capability at the back.

Absolutely bang on the money.

Every time a high ball went into our box last season we were all over the shop. We are crying out for a big strong tall dominant centre half to be brought in. I think we would be so much better for it and bearing in mind that the championship is more often than not aerial bombardment when attacking, it would be negligence if we don't sort this out this summer. If even go as far as to say a couple of new lads at the back wouldn't go amiss.

Right on.

Could swap him for Brewster

You can’t have both JOC AND Ben Davies under contract as a championship club. Especially if you have a competent one in your ranks.

Hence why I said loan, to cover JoC absence this season. If he’s still not able to get on the pitch then you have the option to do what’s needed. The hope is RND would be a suitable alternate instead but if we’re moving to a back 4 then Davies would be the superior option.

He has just been upsetting the Albanian players, manager and staff after pushing a player who then knocked the Albania manager to the ground 🤣. Ampadu was laughing in the stand! Yellow card given to RND. Gerrim in!
Sounds like our type of player. But can he play Centre half?

Honestly can’t see us playing 5 at the back next season anyway
I think it’s almost a certainty that we’ll have 3 centre halves in our starting line up in August.
The only question is will it be 3-4-3 or 3-5-2.

Nixon reporting we’re after him on loan. Would be an excellent move if so I think - was highlighted by the previous management as a top replacement for JO’C in the PL, so should be good enough in the Champ.

Here’s hoping anyway!

Surely Davies is going to leave Liverpool this summer, he's got virtually no chance of playing there. Would be a great addition, probably loan with view to permanent I would guess.

I reckon, more than the other rumours, this one it likely to be genuine interest.
