Is eleven red cards a club record? Actually twelve!

Just occurred to me watching the Football League show that we've had a lot of red cards this year - eleven in total. Now I know they get handed out for a lot less than they used to but surely this must be a club record?

Another shitty post script to an utterly shitty season.

Ah well, we'll all get excited again in August.

UTB!

there should be eleven p45s waiting at shirecliffe for some of our players

And a record for penalties conceded I assume

Out of interest, who's had all the red cards?

as a side note, most games lost in a season record apparently so it said on RS.
well done blades, the records are tumbling :)

Cresswell
Quinn
Lowry x 2
Bogdanovic
Williamson x 2
Lowton
Ward
Kozluk
Henderson

Actually hasn't Maguire had one as well? Could be twelve then - Crikey!

The big surprise is they are not all Henderson.

I think its safe to say we wont win any fair play awards this year.

So Simmo hasn't even managed to get close enough to a player to bring him down because the defenders get there before him!

Its a sad state of affairs when we've had so many red cards and Morgs hasn't even had one of them. Surely we could've strapped his knee up for Swansea and got him to clatter someone.

I predict a red card for Morg's in his first game back :)

Both have to be a record.

A team fighting for their lives in a relegation scrap need to keep their heads, we have done completely the opposite. By no means am I saying the penalties and red cards have sent us down but they have definitley contributed to it. It is hard enough to win a game in the Championship with 11 men never mind 10 and Nosworthy.

It would be interesting to see how many penalties and red cards Preston & Scunthorpe had this season.

For the record three each! Palace came second with nine and Pompey and Millwall with 7 each.

Only Palace conceded more penalties (11) than our ten.

Although we were only fourth in the discipline table behind L**ds, Millwall and PNE but I think that's because it's based on fouls rather than cards.

Thanks Max.

Interesting that Palace have given away more penalties. Although during the season I got the impression that they were given a hell of a lot too. Probably evened its self out for Palace.
