Who do you see being the main threats from this, arguably fairly weak, Championship?

No championship is fairly weak ever, this year I expect the likes of Fulham, WBA, Swansea and Bournement to have a real go.

We will have to work bloody hard and get in some astute signings. We are capable but it will be hard work. UTB.

Us and Norwich weren't supposed to be a threat the season we got promoted. Norwich had finished below Ipswich the season before. More often than not, it's a very unpredictable league.

Like the way Blackpool were playing so if they manage to keep the lads who were on loan they could be the surprise package of the season, manager seems excellent!

Swansea will have to do a full rebuild this summer when loan players return and they’re raided for a few player so they’ll be weaker next year. Blackburn I think will be strong next year they’ve been slowly building and they’ll either have Armstrong scoring shed loads of goals or the massive fee they’ll receive for him to strengthen.

When we run out on that first day, that line up needs to change and given SJs propensity for possession and patience, I expect to see us play a different game, preferably not the 'give it to Norwood to lamp it diagonally' crap which has proven disastrous this past season. Our time on the ball has been embarrassingly shit. If we are playing assumedly weaker opposition, I expect to see that reflected in the possession and chances created, never mind goals scored.

It's time we forgot the past and looked forward. Hiring a non UK manager is a start.

The fear is that some players may not have the same motivation as last time. If we get promoted they know they will not then be needed so the drive to succeed may well be less.
New players and youngsters will have that drive as they have nor been to the Premiership before.

I’m sure a doubling of their wages will be a big enough insensitive for the older players.

In fairness it does look very weak on paper currently, but the season’s only just ended. Let the transfer window go on for a bit and it’ll look far stronger, some teams will start to stick out amongst the rest with a fortnight to go I bet.

True, but by 2022/3 several of the potential casualties will not be in contract.
It seems sad that they may only be motivated by money, but there go many of us.

Different for every team. Different facilities. Different calibre of players at most Prem teams. Different standards of squad depth etc.

I agree but Fulham and West Brom were crap last season, slightly better than us over the 38 but, ultimately, crap and relegated. I’d argue we’ve got just as much chance as they have.
They’ll be a couple of surprises, there always is.
Nothing will be clear until the window closes, we know what our squad is, and what the other squads are. Right now we’re not even sure if we’ll all be allowed in to watch them, never mind who our first 11 will be or what formation they’ll play in.

As we found out to our cost last season - it depends on the quality of the players they have brought in. It's an interesting contrast though as like us they had a poor season too.

Surprised that no one has mentioned the obvious change that means the Championship will be much weaker this coming season. The absence of the massive and mighty Oinkers will seriously weaken the League, lead to a drop in standard and a huge reduction in average league attendances and hence revenue for the remaining clubs. I fully expect there will be a number of clubs going into Administration and numerous breaches of FFP.
