And Adams is already talking about 'if we have offers for the young players, we'll have to listen to them'..... Christ on a bike can't we at least have some time to reflect before hearing that!!!???

And Seth Bennett! Disgraceful smug shit! He claims to be a Blade?? Yeah, right!

What a shocking interview... Just when you want picking up after disappointment and he comes out and practically flogs the young lads to anyone willing to put a bid in.

Absolute jokers. Maybe we can replace them with permanent signings like Collins and Doyle.

To be fair to him, he was only reiterating what he'd said earlier in the week.

I think this goes above Adams, its the Chairman who accepts offers, I hope none of its true, otherwise the rebranding of United is total bollocks and we'll decline further.

So a club outside the premiership would have to consider offers for players- no shit sherlock.

All players are for sale - end of. I don;t understand the hysteria. Should he have declared that they aren't and been accused of dishonesty if / when any leave?

The truth is none of our players are irreplaceable. It isn't about the sales (for me) - it's about how we manage the proceeds / income. It's this area we've totally fucked up over the last 5 years.

Well its about right.

They are all on the transfer list to be honest.

Fair enough they're going to be open to offers but there's a way to answer the question and saying "we're open to offers" isn't the one? How about "If someone wants to offer £10m for Slew it would be hard to say no." rather than just stick them in the shop window like this.

its the manner and timing of the delivery that sticks in the craw

He'd look a right twat when we accepted £2M though, wouldn't he?

But at least he'd be setting the tone. Other managers do that with their young kids; look at the young kid in Southampton. They keep saying they're not taking less than £10m for him. At least set the tone. We value these players highly so other clubs need to do likewise if they want to buy them.

Or even worse an IOU for them. lol

You mean loan player and a friendly? :)

If by bringing Chedwyn on for 10 minutes and the injury is as bad as it looks so Club X don't go ahead with the rumoured transfer already in place, our Mickey won't be here next season anyway.

Can we get Frank Spencer instead?

That's probably why It doesn't bother me so much. I don't rate any of the players that highly. With a £12M wagebill, i's all about how we restructure that. None of the players can't be replaced. It's one of the benefits of being shit....:D

I'd like to keep the young 'uns - but we'd be daft not to sell at numbers like £3M. I know most will disagree.

Was it MA's fault that Ched picked up an ankle injury?

Does anyone really think MA would want to sell Slew, Lowton etc.. by his own choice?? If the powers that be tell him that's what's gonna happen, then, Adams' hand's are tied IMO.

well we cant rely on the youth AND loanees.... surely has to be one or the other. the club statement is a hollow gestures from a bunch of suits who cant possibly be hurting anything like we are right now - steer included.

100% sensible. Not like the usual hysteria we see on here.

Worth the risk in a meaningless game ?
Yes it turned out to be meaningless, but at 3:00pm it was a bloody important game. If you can forsee the future how about winning the lottery and putting some money into the club?

here comes simon right on cue

ffs people, how many players does "the board" have to sell before you lay the blame at the right door, alan birchinall, TC, alex sabella, keith edwards, deano, jan fjortoft the list is endless, spackman left because of it as we all know, adams i think is preparing the way for what he KNOWS is likely to happen if he wants it or not.
whats needed is a owner that looks to the future, not just sells because theres an offer on the table, of course if an offer comes in for stupid money then of course sell them but dont sell a decent prospect just to pay the bills.

We will have nobody for next season, all the youngsters out for however many pennies the board decide will make their pockets rattle a little and every one of the line up will be from a team that nobody has ever heard of, what has happened to united?

As it said on Football Focus yesterday, at this stage of the season it's all down to the manager and how he motivates his squad. Yet again, Adams has totally flunked it with this statement.

Yes we all know that any player is for sale, just as we know that everybody dies. You just don't have to dance on their effin grave.

Will we ever learn?

Yep that sums it up nicely. Bad timing when actually what we could have done with was a rallying call from a very well paid manager whose job it is to do that sort of thing. i think to choose to mention one of the very reasons we have screwed up in the first place and to indicate that will be our starting point was crass.
