McBurnie Video

Thing I don't get, is that when you watch that interview after the 3-3 with Man Utd posted above, he seems fairly balanced and articulate. Maybe, like Jim and John Fleck, there's two of them, Oli and Ally McBurnie.

We may find out whether one or both are a bit of a nob, but more important is to find out if at least one of them can consistently get a decent shot on target.
At the moment hes Illy McBurnie and last week was Aley McBurnie. Hope he doesnt move to a village near Treeton or its going to get daft.

Tbh fair play to the lad, hopefully that’s it over. Was more pissed off at mcburnie for causing the club hassle rather than for lamping a prick

Ha, now the other footage has been published showing what provocative twats they were being he doesn't want to take it any further.

It's not just me.

If you are, then please dial it down. Come back next season refreshed and resolved under our new manager and be that pain in the arse for the opposition, not for us. Be our top scorer and our reason we bounce straight back up, under the new manager, with Bramall Lane stuffed full of fans chanting your name. That's what we want.

If you're not, good luck with the utter shit you type on here.

Why always the need to come across so aggressive sat behind your keyboard?

Was he wearing a United kit when he gave the guy a clip? Looked to me like he was in civvies. No different to you or anyone else giving the guy a clip, now if you did the same in Uniform you would be representing your ship and it would say so around your hat.

Difference being is that no one recognises me as a person in the public eye, regardless of how I am dressed. McBurnie on the other hand is recognisable either in a United kit, stood in Knaresborough or offering opposition fans out on the terraces at Swansea. He is also connected with Sheffield United. My football club.

If I were identified by my employer behaving in such a manner, even if verbally provoked, I would be in deep shit with them, possibly ending in a sacking. There's 'reacting aggressively' and 'self-defence' and someone calling you a cunt doesn't warrant aggressive reaction.

Obviously some people have never heard of work/life balance shouting abuse at a bloke from the terraces is a lot different to shouting abuse on the streets of a small town when he is out with friends or family.

But does every well-known person who gets that treatment act in such a manner? They don't, do they? Their integrity, and that of what they represent (in McBurnie's case, Sheffield United) should be maintained. As said, if the lad went up and picked a fight with him, and got spanked, then fair play to McBurnie. But to start spouting shit and then have McBurnie reciprocate by actually approaching him to assault him has had exactly the desired effect. It's shown McBurnie not to be fully in control of his actions and also, a fucking easy target. It seems he's still spiked by that, even on here. It might help if he focussed such energy onto hitting the back of the net a few times in the field he is employed and known for, and not be known as a liability to SUFC.

I get you don't like McBurnie but he is the victim here not the other way round, I say well done to him for standing up to three bullies.

'Bullies'? I doubt McBurnie has ever been bullied in his life. And no, I don't 'not like' McBurnie (although it's difficult to like him, given his propensity to pick fights on a football forum) I am disappointed in his performance this season and his behaviour off the field. As said, he has next season to correct that. Big ask ... given also Bramall Lane will be full of fans expecting some cause/effect transaction next season and us to come out punching from the first whistle and not look a relegated side from the second minute, like we have this season. The business end is up to him, and he needs to up his game, keep his nose clean and finish the season with a higher sense of belief than this season has delivered, preferably as our double-figures top scorer. He is, ironically, the difference between us being promoted back and staying in the Championship next season. And it is entirely in his own gift to make it so.

So what we saying here then is it that anyone who is well known can be a easy target for drunken bullies (because bullies is exactly what they are) picking on someone who can't retaliate.
Like I have said earlier in the thread United have had players who have been in trouble away from the game yet they get highly thought of, plenty of posts on here glorifying their scraps on and off the field. I'd suggest if we were not at the bottom of the league we wouldn't be having this conversation most would be adding his name to the likes of former Basset players who were often found brawling in local boozers.
How do you know it wasn't self defence? By looking at a very short blurry video?
Looked to me like McBurnie had a bloody nose, either that or he has grown a Hitler tash. Probably better if fans didn't condemn the bloke so fast when they have only seen a 20sec video clip. There was a marked change in opinion on this thread when the 2nd video emerged. Still one or two can't leave it they have to use it as a stick to beat him with. Are you sure your dislike is not fuelled by the notion that Oli posts on this forum in reply to your take on games, you do sometimes get a bit aggressive if others don't agree, maybe it it is you who is now as you sometimes put it playing the poster.

Not really. Bullying people takes many forms. It is difficult to centre some gobby pisswiper on a street in Knaresborough acting the toughie from an out and out social tyrant who terrorises and makes people regret being born. Like I say, I doubt McBurnie has ever been bullied in his life. And beside that, my expectations is that as he represents my football club, he'll be somewhat above retaliating against words to the point he approaches aggressively and then assaults a member of the public, then causes damage to property. All of those are chargeable offences under certain public order acts.

Then again, in years gone by, players could get away with that with knowledge their actions won't end up captured on camera and posted to media within the hour. I'd have thought that McBurnie would be aware of that, given he'd been filmed making inflammatory gestures whilst in a crowd of his peers at a football match.

How do you know it wasn't self defence? By looking at a very short blurry video?

Because the evidence suggests (and you have no countering evidence) that he was some way up the street when the bellend started trapping off at him, and McBurnie then approached to get him to drop the camera. Mistake number one, followed by a few others. I am pretty sure all PL and pro-level footballers have briefs from the club and the FA about this.

It's still a bit inconclusive, isn't it?

It's not, and I have explained my position about McBurnie and my disappointment in him as a player and coming on here to remonstrate. We have levelled a truckload of pretty ripe languae against many of our players (most of whom have played in more games than him this season so are culpable for a catastrophic collapse in our PL standing) and yet they aren't on here going toe to toe and effectively calling out posters as cowardly and keyboard warriors (itself a bit ripe with aggressive intent)

I hit back at people who use My take as a personal dig at me. My take is about the match and its players.

I'll grant you a pineapple ring on a gammon egg and chips. But sorry pineapple and any bread related rations(this includes pizza base) is just wrong! Let the battle commence! :)
What would you do if you were brought a bit of toast to dip in that nice runny egg then, eh?

So having occasional beers is no longer allowed when rehabilitating from a broken bone? Could you provide some peer reviewed research to back your claim?
Then go on to explain how one of our teams players losing it and reacting to sustained abuse in public reflects badly on Sheffield United(in comparrison to the stigma we already have since Tevez and BOBL)? Anyone claiming MCB didn't bust a gut for us is watching a different game to me. Wilder bought him for his strength and aggression and finishing. He still has those abilities and I hope he gets the chance to show them next season. Please get off his back, he's a Blade FFS!
Just because you mentioned peer review I had a research and there is genuinely several American scientific papers that suggest drinking alcohol slows down the recovery process for broken bones... It's more how the press report the headline is Ollie Mcburnie Arrested or Sheffield United player Mcburnie Arrested.
He definitely isn't busting a gut sat in the injuries department. He is a blade I give you that so are many others and they don't need to go out ands get legless

So just what makes you think he got legless for all you know he may have just had the one drink, come on fella tell us we are all waiting

It's funny, all anyone needs to do to find the answer to something is search on the internet and do a bit of research and yet they'd rather just not bother.

Alcohol slows down bone recovery
Alcohol slows down soft-tissue recovery.

Any alcohol.

Any decent physio would tell you that you should not drink after doing exercise as it slows down your body's recovery.

My ex reckons the earth is flat because she read it on the internet.

I'm a biker (currently sans bike), and as such have experienced a lot of bone breakages, including medically induced ones to reset/repair/grow bone, friction burns, soft tissue damage etc. I also had a knee replacement op about 4 years ago. As I enjoy a drop of the sauce myself (but not when riding, obviously), I have asked a number of orthopaedic surgeons down the years whether having a pint or four would inhibit recovery, and I'm still awaiting a "yes". Admittedly I'm a grizzled old biker rather than a professional athlete (so I'd have done ok this season!), but a moderate intake when laid up doesn't appear to have slowed things down, and certainly had positive effects on the old mental health!!

My physio suggested that gin is a better painkiller than the god awful stuff the hospital have prescribed me for my ACL recovery.

Its working great but I'm starting to fear for my nose 😂🍓

Great points about the misdemeanours of others.
"Big fat Bill
Big fat Bil Big fat Bill" rose the chant from the Kop in April 1990 as Whitehurst warmed up as a sub v Bournemouth in that 4 2 win I think.
He has been celebrated by many on here for being such a tough guy when he was not a great player and often a bar room thug too.
I think Evans being a prick in a Rhyl hotel room, though absolved of a crime he apparently didn't commit, was treated leniently on here as he'd just bashed 30 goals in at his league one level.
What division is McBurnie's level and will his wanker signs to Cardiff fans be forgiven if he tears up the Championship.. Which he won't??
