Is he not playing because he's injured, out of favour, or do we not want to trigger any contract clauses?

I wouldn't be remotely surprised if his next appearance would trigger another payment.

Ched is the most talanted player at the lane and will score loads at a higher level .

If so its no wonder that we are in a poor position if he's the best we've got.

Wonder what my mothers doing next week, wonder if she fancies a game up front against the dingles?

No, cus he's shit, end of.

But Monty's still "playing" and he would love to reach the status of being "shit", he's fucking terrible. Henderson's still "playing", no doubt Collins will play again so ffs let's not hang our hat on Ched being wank when we have so many so called players who make him look world class.

Tamus has been on those funny mushrooms again.
Ched is as thick as 3 or 4 Wendy's. He has no positional sense and never uses his head (the inside or the outside for that matter).

Riise is far more talented and uses his brain.

Ched is a waste of space. Voles was far better

Henderson's goal record is better than Evans', his brace today notwithstanding. Obviously we should be playing Ched instead, though.

I think you missed the point. The point was that we have too many shit players in the squad, none of whom are better than Ched.

out of favour then is it?

Nope and its not a payment trigger either, nor is he injured.

I think my colours are already nailed to the mast on Ched but you cant now argue that he hasnt been a waste of considerable money. However I think he will prove himself elsewhere, unfortunatly I think he was killed for us in the first two seasons. Confidence gone, crowd on him for every mistouch and a poor side in which no foward has anything like acceptable stats points to more than underperforming strikers. In hindsight a bad signing for us, but I wish him all the best possibly in the Premiership, if not the Championship, next season.

My sympathies are minimal, he's killed us as much as we've killed him.

Evans has had remarkable treatment by the fans of SUFC. You must hear different things to me Bob. Separate just about every fan quietly describing what they see - a vastly overpaid, incredibly average player returning nothing to the club, with the vocal support he will have picked up on. He's had very little in the way of real criticism - the type that Henderson got on Saturday.

He's really got away very lightly. I'm pleased with that as it isn't productive - but Evans can have no complaints. A free ride, nothing in return, and the ability to never need to turn a spade for the rest of his life - all courtesy of SUFC....:(

I will bare my arse on the town hall steps if he proves himself in the Premiership, and be very surprised if he makes an impact anywhere in the Championship over a significant spell.

Bob, unless I misunderstood, were you saying he's not injured, his absence is not down to a trigger payment and he's not out of favour?
Has he been abducted?

The 2+2 would be that an agreement has been reached with another club (Norwich maybe?) for Ched to move once the transfer window opens. This would be reliant on him not getting injured hence his lack of involvement. Given United's finances, we probably can't risk losing the £1m-odd in potential fee plus £1m that him moving would free up on the wage bill.

Personally, I'd file Evans' time at United under "Did Not Fulfil Potential" next to Billy Sharp (1st and 2nd spells).

Crowd generally showed incredible patience given his numerous pathetic performances over such a long period and the huge outlay on him that could have been used to either keep far better players or sign several more effective ones. Better players, who have shown far more committment to the cause have had far more stick from fans over the years. Ched's been a very lucky lad in that respect.

Amongst the several key decisions that have led to our relegation the decision to spend millions on Ched given the circumstances of the club, is right up there.

That would be odd seeing as he wouldn't be playing a competitive match for about five months.
If they were that keen, surely they could have loaned him?

And if the case, it would be interesting to know when this was agreed to. Somewhat crazy to agree to a transfer for your top goalscorer while there was a mathematical chance of survival.

Well - 4 months..... but yes.
But, should he get an injury while playing in his last few games for us, that could potentially ruin his pre-season.

As for the loan part, the deal (if there is in fact one) may well have been arranged after the loan deadline.

But if they wanted him so much they've agreed a deal to buy him, I can't see why they wouldn't be keen to have loaned him for the end of the season?
Until Slew came along, we had Cresswell out, Boggy being Boggy, Hendo being rusty - it would seem a bit odd when we had a chance of staying up we wouldn't have played him when he 'might' have helped save a loss of several more million pounds than we are going to get for him.

as i said in the other thread i have it on good authority that we have a pre agreement for him to move and they are terrified he might get injured

If this were all true, perhaps they only wanted him if they were promoted and not in order to get promoted.

Voles was a bit of an animal. I preferred Sam Vokes.

Thanks Broomers - Bloody thumb typing, predictive corrections again.

Slewdogg has shown more nouse in three games than Ched has in the last couple of years.
Ched has nothing up top. Many a time I have pointed out to Kenilworth Junior where Ched hides in a match.
He makes several runs into positions where he cannot receive the ball. He never makes it to the near post when someone drives fo rhte line and he never gets a header in cos he is nesh. He stands still when he should be on the move - then reacts too late and he fails to anticipate where the ball will end up after a shot or a cross has been delivered. There is so much about his play that I have witnessed that tells me his decision making is well below standard - so far below that I doubt he can become as successful as his underlying talents promise. You comapre that with Keith Edwards who was an absolute master at understanding when to move and what space to move into. KE scored bags full of goals when 1-1 with a keeper because he timed his runs to perfection off the shoulder of the last defender and he was brilliant at knowing when to go near post or far post when we were on the attack. Slew shows some of these characteristics and he also shows himslef to receive the ball and take defenders on.

If Ched goes I will not be too worried about it. He may get 10-15 a season in the Champ for someone else but I cannot see him being prolific anywhere else - he has too many shortcomings in his game.

As I stated before - I would much rather have had Sam Vokes the Vole Man.

To summarise, what you're saying is that he doesn't have a football brain. I agree with you, some things you can learn, but not instinct and he doesn't have that.
