He's coming

I know DC, but there’s no discernible track record with the guy. I think it’s a fair comment to struggle to grasp the appeal apart from he’s different from his predecessor. It’s an enormous gamble trusting our parachute payments to an unknown. Arguably a bigger one than Weir IMHO who at least had some pedigree in the U.K. and potential to maybe bring in some players from former clubs.

Let’s hope he’s our David Wagner / Daniel Farke and can get us up. The reality though is the board need to find some more investment in the next 3 years as we’ll either (a) run out of parachute payments, or (b) we’ll get up and just fall at the quality hurdle again.
I'd rather it was Jokanovic but we might be priced out. Howe is the only other top-drawer candidate and it looks like that ship has sailed.

Main thing now is to get someone in ASAP and freshen the place up a bit.

Is Ryan Leonard in the frame for a player/head coach role yet??

What's Mr Chips doing now? Say what you see.... Buzz in when you know.....

It’s a bit like a player this one if we get in on him now then we can get him but it’s a gamble if we wait till he’s proven himself somewhere else he’ll probably be out of our reach.

Apparently Talksport's Belgium correspondent is to detail the latest with Blessin between 1.30 and 4pm at some point! That means listening to 2.5 hours of Hawksby and Jacobs talking crap and laughing at their own jokes! I'll wait for someone on twitter to update!
I love Hawkbee and Jacobs... The perfect antidote to the rambling Jockfest between 6am and 1pm.

Blessin‘s CV looks incredibly underwhelming...in fact it’s crap.
He’s only played at small clubs at a low level....he retired when he was 38.
Then he waits until he’s 46 to become a 1st team coach at Oostende.
He only has 1 year experience as a coach at a really small club in a crap league.....agree he’s done really well there....but it’s only 1 year.

So does anyone know what the attraction is?
Why are we showing interest on what appears to be a total novice? It’s not making sense.
💰💰💰 ...Come on down......The price is right. 😉

A solid German of the right age, bring it on. The right thing to do for the club I think. Thanks Chris but off you must fuck now.
So let's have no more messin with Blessin, I'm confessin, the football is depressin, there ain't no window dressin this shit.
I'll get me coat :)

TBF Ferguson won 3 SPL titles and UEFA Cup Winners Cup at Aberdeen, Wenger won the league at Monaco, Wilder had done well wherever he’d been and just won a League 2 title. Mourinho admittedly was a gamble for Benfica, but had been an Assistant at Barca.

Ironically the biggest local similarity is Leeds givingHeckingbottom a crack (!) - successful at youth team level, did well in a short stint at Barnsley in his first gig.

And they all started somewhere, didn’t they? What did Fergie do before Aberdeen? Wenger before Monaco? You can’t just pick the bit of history that suits your argument and present that in isolation.

Isn’t using Ferguson, Wenger and Mourinho picking a bit of history and presenting that in isolation? Where’s youth team supremos Davie Weir, Steve Kean and Jan Siewert? 😉

Altogether now...

"We're on the march with Blessin's army, yes, honestly, we won't go to Wembley, but we don't give a shit, we don't give a damn that the Blades aren't leaders because United are the best football team. All together now."

Scans better in German, with an Austrian accent, I think

I get your point, but not strictly speaking, no - it's cherry-picking three examples and presenting them as evidence of a point ;)

For my part I think it's a risk, but any managerial appointment is a risk. I think we have to start to try to do things a bit differently if we want to push on and compete.

He's probably dirt cheap i.e. less than £2 mill a year

He’ll kill 60% of our squad will the high intensity training.

Think this is absolutely the right move for SUFC

Yes it’s a risk but the tried and tested gritty manager getting the best out of average players, grinding out results, cheap transfers, selling young talent, promotion by the skin of our teeth followed by being outclassed and relegated has had its day. European / world style / GangenBless footy into BDTBL is the way forwards and well worth a timely risk.

I hear he will be bringing those two veteran Oriental strikers with him.
Wee Wun Won and Hau Lon Sin

I don’t disagree. But there’s some good coaches with a few years experience in 2. Bundesliga and presumably in the other continental leagues.

In any line of work, if you’re making an important strategic decision it’s important to de-risk as much as you can. I think “recency” bias is driving us to do the absolute opposite of our previous appointment. As long as it is a rational decision then I’m fine with that, but I can’t really get on board with the “why the hell not?” view when the clock is ticking on our parachute payments.
