But the sensible approach is to use this short term opportunity with parachute payments to go after a proven manager with promotions on his CV. Give the money and budget to Jokanovic and say “Get us promotion this season”.

He’s certainly looking like being the most expensive but what if this guy is better?

I’m also not certain of his interest. If he wants to job why has every mention of it being attached with, “but he’ll have to be the best paid manager in the Championship”?

from reading about he sounds good, the only issue is that this is his only season in charge of anyone. but he done well, oostende last 3 years 11th 14th 15th. weirdly he had the same start as wilder did in League 1 & Championship, was 2nd bottom after winless in the 1st 4 games. then has risen up the table to 4th

It’s a bit akin to being asked by a yank (and yes it did happen before anyone asks) if I knew a Mrs Wilson in Plymouth when they found out I was English. Both live in Belgium ergo they’re best mates. Now they actually might know each other and may indeed be mates but it’s a bit 2+2=45 until we have something a bit more than they both live in Belgium a country of 11.5m people. Of course I understand the football community of Belgium is smaller before someone says.
