Agreed. I also think we need to grow the fuck up and start acting like a football team who plays in the 21st Century.

Signing foreign players (of pedigree) and hiring foreign managers with strange sounding names doth not 'not' make Sheffield United true to it's roots. Whilst Wilder may have catapulted us up the leagues, and Wilder is in fact a Sheffield born and bred fan of the club, we have seen that 'being native' has it's restrictions and limitations both recently and in the past.

We need success. United are a big city club and should have big city attitudes and aspirations.

I hadn't considered Jokanovic having thought he'd gone and wasn't returning. I am in favour of Howe, but if this bloke is available, he should be pushed upwards in the running list.

pommpey

Nailed it there Pommpey.

We are a big club, let's start fucking act like one.

well any new manager whoever it is will want to bring new players in to suit whatever system they want to play but do think if we keep both of em that system would suit mcburnie and brewster

Jokanovic also played 4-2-3-1 with Fulham (Ollie Norwood played as one of the midfield two against us, if I remember rightly) and he primarily played 3-5-2 or a 4-4-2 diamond with Watford.

What makes you think that?

If anything I would suggest the complete opposite, PA knows he has lost a lot of faith with fans by sacking Wilder, (well with the gobshites on social media who keep telling him he is a cunt anyway) and will know he has got to come up with a manager to restore faith, belief and more importantly get as many of the 25K season ticket holders returning. Jokanovic would do that, a very exciting appointment indeed.....if his agent has put the feelers out that he would be interested we should do all we can to get him in.

My previous preference was Howe but if there is the slightest whiff that we could get Jokanovic that blows everything else out of the water for me.
In short I don’t think he knows what he’ll be taking on.

Ultimately we will be in a worse financial position than he or most others would expect.

I also think there is a question mark over how a big name like Jokanovic will sit inside PA’s preferred management structure.

I tend to think from PA’s side he is going to be after more of a yes man while he is bedding in this new management structure. It’s rumoured he got fed up, rightly or wrongly, with Wilder slagging him off every week. He’s probably going to go down the path of least resistance, he doesn’t want another Wilder scenario on his hands.

Another thing to throw into the mix is the increased visibility of the U23 lads and the talk about the need for a “pathway for youth”. This worries me. We’ve clearly got some promising youngsters but that’s all they are. It feels like the club are wanting to gamble on these lads next season. How is this going to play with a potential manager?

Don’t get me wrong, if we did get him it would be a real coup and a statement of intent. I just don’t see it though. I think the Heckingbottom/Tindall/Appleton pool is where we’ll be fishing. A head coach type figure reporting to a DOF and happy to use the young lads in lieu of spending much money.

Up until Wilder leaving I generally thought the Prince was doing ok. Whilst being similar to McCabe in financial status, and being a bit naive at first he seemed to have far more ambition and higher standards on how a club of our stature should operate.

The Wilder thing though, wherever the blame lies, has been bungled and there is no getting away from that. It’s made me question his judgement and his ability to get this next appointment right.

See what happens, just hope I’m proved wrong.

The board want this Championship promotion winning expert as first choice according to The Sun. He would cost £2 million per year and be the highest paid Championship manager. However Chris Wilder has recommended Steve Cooper.
Why would Chris recommend someone to a club who he has left because they don’t match his aspirations.

We've never had a foreign manager and if you look at our general refusal to sign foreign players over the last decade we could probably use a shake-up. He's got a great record but never really sticks around. I'd rather Cooper to be honest. I think Jokanovic would only be a short term signing and I'd prefer a longer-term investment.
We have Gary Speed was Welsh

Al-Gharafa are dogshit, you don’t tend to move to the QSL if you are relevant in Europe. It’s where players and managers got for a last pay day.

Getting fed up with somebody slagging you off in the worldwide media and eventually getting fed up of it, isn't the same as wanting a yes man.

If Jokanovic is available and wants to come then it is a no brainer. He is head and shoulders above anything else realistic out there.

If were to get him then we have fallen on our feet.

It'd be like getting dumped by Miss World but then picking up Miss South America on the drunken night out.
More like getting dumped by Miss Barnsley and picking up Miss Brazil on a drunken night.

Oh, if you say so :(
Don’t get me wrong I’d love him to be being considered. But let’s be honest it’s incredibly unlikely, and then when it doesn’t happen folk will turn their frustration on the club.
If he does come in for an interview then great, everyone’s a winner.
