EDDIE HOWE

I have a feeling Tindall is here to be Howes no 2 again .Howe then comes in end of the season with out the relegation on his cv and is now scouting players he wants to bring in
I hope this is true

I like Howe and he's got good credentials but could he settle oop North, he didn't at Burnley mind you I wouldn't want to live there either. He's young and is used to working on a shoestring as I say my main worry is would he settle, I know Bassett did but who knows.
I think settling in leafy west Sheffield in comparison to setting in Burnley might be quite different.

He’s the ideal man for the job, he’s had a good year out to reflect too so I recon he’ll be chomping to get back, on top of this he’s still young so he could really build something with us. Let’s hope Tindall’s ‘watching’ brief is for Howe.

I've seen an abundance of people from all over stating Howe and Tindall fell out and won't work together again.

I wasn't aware of this until last night tbh.

I'm assuming there must be something in it due to the variety of sources, particularly from Bournemouth.

Does anyone know more about it?

Warnock and Blackwell ended up working together again although it took a good while.

Tbf I could see the logic in this if it was a goer but it could just be as simple as Bettis asking a mate to help out for a couple of months.

203% win percentage and still some don’t want him. Crazy

I agree initially but he then was provided with massive funds to buy and fund players on big salaries which as I say exceeded FFP and would have resulted in punishment if they had not achieved promotion.

the fact that he is don Howes son is another reason I don’t want him but v happy to be proven wrong
He’s not Don Howe’s son.

He’s the only out of work manger with the credentials and who’d be acceptable to replace Chris, he’s great with developing a young squad and has promotion credential, not only that he’s kept a team in the prem for a few years.

THERES NO OTHER CANDIDATE
I defy anyone to "lip read" Eddie Howe when he is talking.

If we flop at the Euros, there's a chance he's the next England manager. If not, he's possibly the next Palace manager. If he's willing to move him and his family north, then there's Newcastle, Celtic etc. Or he could drop down a division to work for a tinpot Saudi Prince with a collapsing training ground.

I'm not optimistic.

if newcastle go down bruce will be sacked and think wilder will be nailed on for that job

I thought it was interesting when Hecky said "whoever the next manager is will be watching" - after the game today, for me it means its not him.

I do still think its Howe, especially with Tindall turning up already, plus Howe is on gardening leave until the summer so makes sense we have a temp manager in place until then.

Not sure Howe is a like-for-like replacement for Wilder but he's definitely the best of the bunch thats been listed on betting sites so far.

Having watched heckingbottom’s interview today he definitely doesn’t want it. Can’t blame him he’s got a nice thing going with the 23s

I don't even think these two have fallen out. There's nothing in the news about it anywhere from what I've seen. Even most AFCB fans are surprised at this apparent fall out. Maybe just a cunt on twitter that is spreading an untruth.

Now 2/1 favourite

For me the jury's out on howe not sure if he's an upgrade or even same level as Cw , it's definitely a thought that he'll take over end of the season, the squad is rock bottom at the moment, and he won't want another relegation on his cv but has tindall now preparing the squad to his way of working, the thing with howe he will give youth a chance and want investment in the academy and training facilities but don't expect bounce back first season, just get the feeling coming out of the club CW wanted the money ear marked for the academy and DOF for the first team squad was told no in January due to the league position
Admitted I think if we had been more flexible with the wage structure we would have got our targets over the line last August but it wasn't any guarantee we would be any better off

The trick is going to be either maximising the players here by keeping the system (or a version of it) or having a huge overhaul

We have zero flair players, we don’t have the pace or trickery or creativity to play a Howe style of football I imagine, without significant risky squad turnover.

I’ve no idea which way is the right way to go but expecting a manager to perform with the players as it stands in a different system isn’t going to work at all.

im hoping its howe cant see anybody else on the list that fits the bill and i hope we play a more modern style of system 433 for me but to do that it will need a major overall of players then a season in the championship to consolidate and push for promotion in 2 years time

The one thing i like about Howe is the players he signs, he signed some great players for Bournemouth. i know they fell short last year but they had a good run at it and other than maybe the top 8 clubs every club can have one bad year.

Had a load of Russian money, unlike at Burnley. Not sure he’d be a good choice for us or him.
Who else god only knows !!

TBH I've always been underwhelmed by Howe. Yes, he did a decent job at Bournemouth guiding them through the leagues and I can see an obvious similarity with CW in that respect. However, he was only able to do that when bankrolled by their owner and I'd question his ability to do so on a tighter budget. He obviously failed badly at Burnley but I'd hope learned a lot from that experience.

Another unfortunate similarity with CW is the quality of his more recent acquisitions, which at best are questionable - Ibe, Solanke, Mepham, Kelly were all bought for decent (i.e. Prem level) money and are yet to fulfil their potential.

Would he take the Utd job? Possibly so given he's still available. There would again be the question of whether he'd be willing to work under the structure Utd's Board are moving to.

One thing that isn't in doubt about Howe is that he's a very good coach and plays attractive football.
The big question around him is with regards to his ability in the transfer market. Rather like Wilder he seemed very astute at the lower end but spent a lot of money which didn't immediately come off once the horizon was lifted. I personally think, as with Chris, that this is slightly unfair, and when you don't have the financial backing to be in the market of certainties you have to take chances which don't always pay off. Solenke for example I rate highly as a player who I think will see out the majority of his career in the Premier League and I'd take him for us any time, but he's taken time to settle and find his feet. Players like Ibe will happen, and to be honest, at the time he was highly rated and it looked a very progressive deal for them, just as the Brooks deal did.
If we are going to more of a committee approach to transfers then of course he'll have a stong voice in the room, but it will have a greater level of governance.

Out of all the names I've seen listed, Howe is the only one I think would comes close to having the chance of coming straight back I believed we had with CW.
However changing managers has brought in a significant element of risk which needn't have been there.

What the fuck are you on about? Do you get paid to spout shite on here on a daily basis? I suspect it’s the alternative that you currently don’t get paid hence the time to spout shit consistently.....

Clown
I don’t see that personal abuse helps any of us.
By all means disagree with what someone says (other than me as I am always right !), but don’t lower yourself to abuse.

Howe was at Burnley longer than I thought, his record there wasn't as bad as I thought either.

For me Howe is the best option to bring in. He took over at Bournemouth, got them promoted and kept them in the Prem for 5 years, something Wilder couldn't do with us.
