Don’t trust this man

“Obviously” is used by many interviewees in the footballing world, usually players to introduce a new subject which couldn’t possibly be obvious in advance to the viewer. I expected a bit more from an administrator like Bettis.

Not impressive at all and told us virtually nothing, probably asked more questions than it answered. In particular, what does it mean regarding not taking lightly the decision on Chris’s departure?

You know when someone doesn't believe what they're saying or are lying - they can't look straight. He does nothing but fidget and look down
Or he knows that whatever he says he's on a hiding to nothing from the fans but someone had to face the media and he was chosen to be the lamb to the slaughter 🤷‍♂️

I am no employment lawyer, but given the apparent desire from the board for a director of football position to be created, and recent comments against this from Chris, maybe his hand was forced?

Is this in effect constructive dismissal, with a mutual agreement and golden goodbye to avoid a later compensation claim?

HH
The threshold for constructive dismissal is exceptionally high, the definition is something along the lines of 'fundamental breach of contract that leaves the employee with no other choice but to resign'.

Theoretically at least, I reckon there's a small chance you'd able to argue that forcing a DoF onto Wilder without agreement changes his job role and creates a breach of contract as a result of an imposed variation to his contract. From this it'd be an even bigger task to argue that any breach of contract left him with no other option but to resign.

With the huge caveat that I know absolutely nothing about what has actually happened, I suspect the board are far more concerned about the confidentiality clauses and agreed statements as part of the agreement rather than any Employment Tribunal claim.

Don’t believe that. Wilder personally talked him into coming back to Utd when he left due to “differences of opinion and working practice” so if he’d not become a well paid puppet, he’d have refused?

I might be reading to much into this but, when he speaks about PH and bringing through the academy players (I'm all for if they're good enough) but I hope they're not setting us up to sell a joc and replacing him with an academy lad just to save/make money.

RND.

Wilder threw his dummy out when it became clear he wasn't as good as he thought he was. Another warnock -type sheffield united fan.
If he was such a stand up bloke, he’d have walked. He’s done to us what Wilson did to the pigs. Spunked the cash on tripe and then waited for his P45.

I just want to know exactly what’s gone off. Then I’ll cast my judgement. We don’t know what the Prince wants to put in place. We don’t know what demands/assurances etc Wilder made. We don’t know why a compromise couldn’t be reached. There needs to be a detailed presser!

Leaky roof at Shirecliffe brought it to a head apparently. The fact that the waterproofing wasn’t working was far more important than things not working on the pitch.

Oh, and because the money spent on players was PL money it’s not important because PA didn’t put it in from his 50p jar.

(Not an attack on Wilder who l wish was still here but a comment on the spin put on here by certain people, after the event)

No, Chris is just an employee...but he forgot that.

Especially after leaving him spending the money like a 12 year old who has his Dads cash card on the PlayStation . I think the judge would be more astounded that the 50/12 year old was left unsupervised for so long and whether they were negligent in their roles for been so naive in trusting him to do so.

Well there’s been no explanation of why Chris Wilder left. That’s not good enough, we’re being kept in the dark. I’d like to hear from both sides their reasons for this split and we can make our own mind up.

That’s fair ST, you’ll understand the financials better than me. The leaking roof though, as a PL club, it’s so tinpot it’s untrue.

Do you have a feel as to who will pay the loans taking to pay the assets? SUFC?

Build a new training ground.
Very important point is this !
Must not forget why he's gone!
Not because of this awful season as the prince said he's the best man to take us up.
1/ We have to have better facilities for training etc ,it seems the prince was edging away from this . We as fans must put pressure on to make sure this is not the case ,the training ground improvements are vitally important.
2/ Maybe Chris is at fault over this not knowing the true facts one can only guess.
He did need help as running a premiership club or even a championship club is a vast task and delegating to hand picked assistants really is needed in my opinion.
The manager should have final say in all team matters but needs to have other opinions as well as hi own to work with.
That is a very disappointing aspect of all this as I get the feeling the Prince was willing to give Chris his head over how it was implemented
. 3/ This season will have taken its toll on Chris as seeing his beloved blades nose dive like we have ! His private life must have been a living hell( 24/7).
Hopefully when things settle down Chris will be able to watch us as a fan again and enjoy any success we have,we are not a busted flush.
Come on you blades.

The straw that broke the camels back! Get the bloody roofer in!
