Nobody has suggested that we’re going to romp the Championship next season. Norwich are also disproving your point about being promoted at the first try.

They got 14 points out of their last 28 games last season, same as our first 28 games this season. In their last 10 games they managed zero points and just 1 goal.

It can be done but the right decisions need to be made.

Norwich didn't even try last season, the knew they were there to pay the bills and have another go, they spent naff all, whereas we spent about £120m and had Champions League football in our hands for a lot of the previous season (even though that's obviously not our level). The shock of that falloff is a lot harder to overcome for everyone involved I reckon and will have a much harsher hangover.

I think they'll comfortably beat our tally for the full season anyway, unless the players all hated Wilder and they suddenly turn up.

Wilder would have signed better players had the wage structure been more generous.

The United board has failed to be ridiculously rich, they backed him very well within our means, but you can't just decide to have enough money to pay Villa's wages. If you haven't got it you shouldn't pay it and risk doing a Sunderland or Portsmouth.

Bollox we spent 130m plus, we can not match villa Fulham West Brom an the likes for wages, they've had far more success of late than us, more years in the prem earning more money and more well off owners. If we had stayed up this season then you would have seen the wage structure change in my opinion. All this soon n gloom we'll end up in lg1 the board are useless is just typical fucking bollox from some blades and it passes me off. Chris is gone so fuck the blades are still here and will be for a long long time. Thank you Chris but it's somebody else's turn now.

Whether Norwich tried last season or not they were still absolutely terrible and they’re demonstrating that you can get over being that bad in time to be promoted at the first attempt.

As I said, it will be difficult and the right decisions need to be made in many areas. It doesn’t mean it’s impossible though.

What do you want them to do, imagine some money out of thin air? Or risk our future and give Watkins, Cash, Robinson the 60/70k it would’ve required to get them in the end?

Wilder has also spoke at length about the importance of the wage structure we have and how it’s important for squad harmony. Do you think bringing in Antonee Robinson and sticking him on 60k (he’s on 55 reportedly at Fulham) would sit right with the lads? After seasons upon seasons of being told that this wage structure is what we have in place for the good of the club.

I’m not sure Wilder walks into that job I reckon that’s the job Howe is holding out for ...or maybe Lampard ...personally think that if he gets a prem job he has to get a team promoted first and in that respect West Brom would be a shout as I don’t see big Sam being a long term thing for them

This transition from a Championship club to a PL outfit was always going to be a problem.

I'd have beefed up the scouting network before giving Tufty his cards.

I think what has happened is that the Prince wants to use United World and foist players on Wilder, which is basically what's happened at S6.
