Blades "thrown to the wolves"

View from Gimli, that is nonsense. My view is that the author is trying to create a rift that isn’t there.

The Prince has backed Wilder, the Prince has supported Wilder, Wilder has done an excellent job.

Talk in the article that he suddenly now decides he is going to walk away, what right now after we’ve just given ourselves some hope?

Some stirring going on in my opinion.

This post all day long, somebody is shit stirring

I fucking hate social media and the internet sometimes. These cunts don't speak for me, or any other Blade I know in person. They are just shit stirring to get clicks and a bite or two. I have not read it, I don't need to give them a click and read it, the headline speaks for itself. FWIW I agree that in our position right up until the Man U game really, January was not the time to be throwing money at it. Ok, I've not given up all hope of staying up, but in the current financial climate and with the very realistic situation of playing Championship football next season, any wheeling and dealing with the bit of money we will have should be saved for the necessary tweaks needed to give us the best chance of promotion. Ok I'd have loved another midfielder maybe, or even a LWB but I live in the real world. This summer is the best time to make the necessary tweaks. I trust Wilder and I trust the Prince - ffs, surely they have both earned some trust from us over the past few years.

I am fully confident that funds will be in place, with some player sales too of course, for Wilder to given a decent crack at getting us back up within the next couple of seasons.

I wouldn't be surprised (and would agree) if Prince said to CW something along the lines of:

"Realistically Chris, we can't afford the amount of money on the number/type of players we'd need to rescue the season from here.
Rather than go at it half-heartedly, why don't we save the money to get you what you need for a successful promotion push next year?
If you pull it off this year with what you've already got then great, there'll be no-one happier than me, but considering the law of probabilities, it seems a sensible thing to use the funds next year instead.
You OK with that?"

For all their faults, journalists and correspondents used to have to forge relationships, gain trust and demonstrate some competence before being allowed to release articles into the public domain. That any thick cunt with an internet connection can now do the same is a modern day plague.

I'm not going to lie I was a bit pissed off that the board didn't back Wilder but when I listened to what the prince said, it seemed logical and he seemed very determined to get us straight back up if we went down. I just don't think there was anyone available who could improve us who would not require significant funds to bring in. So I can understand the boards position.

Got to be said that a midfield loanee and maybe another defender wouldn't have hurt. We will have more injuries and suspensions before the end of the season. They needn't have been PL superstars. There are plenty of decent players in the Championship and Wilder and Knill have good contacts. Contracts to the end of the season on a low-ish wage with a bonus for staying up wouldn't have cost the earth
I don't entirely disagree but the question is always 'who?'

Those linked were unobtainable. They went to defending Champions Liverpool, top 4 pushing West Ham or stayed in Sampdoria. Hardly heard an utterance of anyone else. Plus, we are 20th and we have been somewhat marooned. It's not a straightforward sell. We're not selling a team who is 9th and pushing on for Europe.

Once you came down the list from the unattainable targets, filtered out those that didn't fancy it, maybe what was left simply wasn't attractive enough.

I'd say Reiss Nelson. He didn't go anywhere, probably would be closer to getting minutes with us and Arsenal would have helped on wages to get him games. He went nowhere. Apart from him I can't think of too many. If Berge is back in a month, you could have committed to a loan fee, wages for 5 or 6 months just for 4 weeks of back up insurance.

As others have said this is pointless now as the window is shut and nothing can be done about it. Keep an eye on the summer when we should be very active again and I’m sure significant funds (by our standards) will be available.

Is it just me that thinks 4 years ago we were in League 1 about to play AFC Wimbledon at home in a 4-0 win and now we are going into the weekend about to play Chelsea. The turn around Wilder has done to the club is huge and even if has been "thrown to the Wolves (bollocks)" he has done a fantastic job.

Strange article. The Prince was spot-on in his interview

Have a feeling they have listened to this new interview the other day and just skewed HRH arguement for not getting Loan players in may not benefit the team and make things worse financially if we go down. Anyone on here worth their salt who listened to the interview will have took it in a positive way this guy is just creating clickbait and stirring an empty pot.

Just ignore and move on like 90% of social media comments these days.

The interview was from the horses mouth and nothing like this tw*ter drivel.
I took it that the Prince sounded very supportive and positive of our situation, staff and club.

I was reading earlier I think on BBC site unsure, that the Prince got special dispensation to come back during the pandemic, to tell Wilder his job was safe even if relegated. This story of being thrown to wolves by him IMO is total bollox and just someone shit stirring, either McCabe or Chancer lol.

That’s all he ever does.

In the same paragraph VFTJS claims CW leaving must be imminent, and is now only a matter of when, not if, and then he follows it up with "It's in Wilder's DNA to see the job through", and in case you didn't spot the obvious and immediate contradiction he screams in red text "as written on this website", like an opinion that CW won't walk away is somehow his own unique genius analysis.

Put the Pulitzer prize back in the cupboard FFS. Who is this clown?

You're friends with Kevin McCabe?

The stick he’s given McCabe in the past l’d be surprised if Kev gave him the time of day, even if it meant missing a chance to slag the Prince. If l’m wrong, they are a pair of two faced twats.

I’ve read it (or at least had it land in my inbox) for all the time he’s been doing it. You can tell how things are going with United simply by the regularity of his “updates”. When we were doing well, there was hardly a peep. But whenever theres a bad run, or a court case or anything negative, he’s like a pigeon on a chip; loads of articles.

I always thought it was quite funny in a Private Fraser like way, but agree with others; recently he really does seem to be going further than that and has a real agenda against Prince Abdullah. Turning into a ranting oddball.

It reads like someone who accidentally read a bit of a broadsheet while wondering why page three was full of articles and thought "I could do that".

"Wilder is the perfect choice to stage another promotion bid on a de facto limited budget."

And then found "de facto" on his word of the day toilet paper and spent the rest of his morning figuring out how to cram it in a sentence.

Isn't that blog always one for shit-stirring? Sure I've seen some equally daft posts pop up on Twitter by them, before.

If we're honest, any other chairman would have sacked Wilder in December, so I think any suggestion that he's been thrown to the wolves is sensationalist.

Just like WBA. That worked out well for them.

Not sure what's more headshaking. This article or people hanging off every tweet of Wit's.
