After a promising start to his stay with us , I thought this lad’s performances dropped off alarmingly . In some matches he looked weak , lazy , lacking in positional sense and almost disinterested .

However , there have been signs of much improvement in recent matches and in last night’s , I thought he was terrific . He barely put a foot wrong , played with energy and enthusiasm and had a key role in the defensive master class we witnessed .

Well done Ethan and a few more like that please .

The more he plays, the better he will get. The base talent is there, he's just not had the experience of regular playing that is vital in any player making their way.

I'll say again what I've said previously, I don't think he is Chelsea first team material, so if we can get him full time that would be a major coup because he could develop into a huge player for us.

His performance at Crystal Palace was a disgrace (he wasn’t the only one in fairness). His improved form since then has been pleasantly surprising.

Looks as if Wilder has stopped telling them they can't compete and they can actually go toe to toe with other teams.

I was saying he should be used at LCB and was shot down on here for suggesting it.

He's certainly grown into that role and until JOC returns is my first choice there.

i think the trauma of this season will probably prevent him from ever feeling like we would be a good permanent option, in fact i feel that our reputation has been irreparably damaged because of this season on a wider scale

Needs to stay in one position in the squad. We have been moving him around the team due to injuries.

Playing RCB then CDM then LCB. He is getting used to LCB at the moment and playing there regularly.

I wish we'd committed to him playing LCB from the start and allowed him to grow into the role, as oppose to trying every man and his dog there.

The lad's obviously talented, the problem's been that we've had to rely on a player like that who either isn't quite ready or isn't yet equipped to handle the kind of run we've had. He's been thrown into a position that hardened pros would struggle with mentally.

He's a young lad, inconsistency is common. As he matures and gets more experience, and finds the consistency then I expect him forge a career playing at the very top level.

He pissed me off after the Palace game but tbf he's had some outstanding performances for us. I reckon if he'd have come to us last season then he would have really made a name for himself.

He just looks physically stronger when he comes in contact with opposition players. There were a couple of times yesterday where he got hit or hit someone and he came out on top and didn’t even look as though anything had happened.

We can argue as to if he was the right signing for us and good use of a loan. But the facts are he’s developing and learning his trade. A steep learning curve was to be expected. He’s been shifted about almost by the game to accommodate injuries etc.

In his career. He’s played 8 times for Exeter, 1 for Chelsea, 3 for RB Leipzig and 14 for us. 26 games of domestic football, abs he’s 19/20 so not exactly a seasoned professional.

I see no evidence he doesn’t want to be here to be honest. And it’s not like he’s one of these kids that’s been destined to make it since he was 7 at Chelsea. He was playing for Exeter. I’d imagine he knows it’s a chance to show what he can do regularly in the PL with game time and take the next step in his career.

Obviously areas he needs to improve, but he’s had a good few games and let’s hope he can keep it up

Ampadu has been awful most of the season and in some games he has been bordering on the disgraceful. To the point that if it had been up to me he would have been dropped off at Stamford Bridge on the way back from Palace.

However, credit where its due, and since that shambolic showing of seemingly not giving a flying toss (even the Chelsea fans on social media were scathing of him after the Utd v Palace match) he has started to step up to the plate and is levels of performance have risen to the point that he could have been man of the match yesterday in a game where all Blades players played well.

The jury's still out on him as far as I'm concerned, but at least he's starting to change some opinions and he may still have a future with us / in the PL.

If he keeps up standards I wouldn't be adverse to us trying to get him permanently in the summer if a deal could be done. He's still only a young pup.

Doesn’t matter what he does, with Tuchel at Chelsea he has no future there. That said I don’t think he had much of one with Frank either but he’s certainly good enough for us.
He’s a kid, so is going to be inconsistent but the accusation of a player not being interested is so lazy as it doesn’t actually mean anything. It’s just a way for people to have a pop at a player for having a bad game when they can’t come up with enough examples of poor play.

well cant see him breaking in to tuchels side yet so maybe we could get him on loan again for next season depends if any premier league clubs come in for him but think hes found his best position now
