What exactly did he do wrong against Burnley ? I thought it was a faultless day for him.

Just didn't save the header for their goal, other than that I thought he had a good game, which is surprising, cos previous to that I was under the impression that he couldn't even catch Covid!?What exactly did he do wrong against Burnley ? I thought it was a faultless day for him.
Not be called Dean Henderson. What exactly did he do wrong against Burnley ? I thought it was a faultless day for him.
To throw another name in there, I'm amazed after such a successful loan spell at Huddersfield that Danny Ward at 27bis content to sit in the stiffs at Leicester. It would have been excellent shithousing by us to get him, given he saved Forestieri's penalty and ran half the pitch to celebrate. Would have been a nice clip to play over and overI think you have to keep picking him unless you are ok writing off 18m.
1. If you drop him, it gets National attention, brings more focus on him and probably writes off 50% minimum of our investment if not far more. You need him to play through this to either maintain his value for a move or to be the performer he needs to be
2. His confidence is going to be shaky. If the manager shows his hand that he's lost faith in him then this is only going to compound it. How do you build that confidence back once jettisoned?
3. There is nothing to suggest any of the other keepers are any good.
- League One Wes lost his place to 38 year old Allan McGregor, which to me suggests he isn't all that. He didn't do anything against Burnley to suggest he's a decent bet.
- Simon Moore didn't have the managers backing in the division below so he's not a candidate and might be injured still.
- Michael Verrips' biggest claim is based on the fact bone of us have seen him. Hardly a ringing endorsement!
- Jake Eastwood has just come back from injury after 45 minutes on loan in Scotland where he managed to be at fault for a goal and get injured. So it's no lt him stepping in.
- Only this past week Marcus Dewhurst made some great saves for the U23s but then misjudged the flight of a corner giving Hull a goal.
- Jordan Amissah's biggest claim to fame seems to be he has good height but he's 7th in the pecking order.
So all in all, apart from change for change's sake, unless Verrips is a hidden gem, then that's your lot.
I can appreciate the value of a good keeper. It's why Clough was happy to spend well on Shilton. I'm very surprised given our budget that Chris and Steve Bettis thought spending such a large portion on a keeper was a good investment. There must have been a fair few available for loan or permanent which could have been acquired from within the 5m bracket. I mentioned elsewhere but Etheridge went for 2m, Romero would have been available for loan. Mat Ryan has just gone on loan to Arsenal, he was signed originally for 7m.
this not wanting to take a hit on wages is gonna cost us our premier place weve paid the fees but were not prepared to pay the high salaries think its an important lesson for when we get back upTo be honest, I wish we had gone for someone like Ben Foster and took the hit on wages. So what if it disrupted the wage structure, he's an established prem keeper with international experience.
Otherwise Randolph of Etheridge would both have been better options.
The beauty of hindsight.
For foster's fee/wages we could've loan Hendo for another year with change left over... plus then we don't disrupt the wage structure, we can justify a loan as it's another club's wage structure we are adhering to... or if it's that much of a problem, we could negotiate to pay Hendo's loan as a flat fee and not contribute wagesTo be honest, I wish we had gone for someone like Ben Foster and took the hit on wages. I’m almost certain there was a thread about ramsdale signing in the summer, plenty on here suggested other keepers and some even predicted how bad a signing this may become. The be all and end all is if Rammers had cost half of what we got him for i can’t imagine people rightfully dig him out as much on here. The lad came here with a load of pressure on his back, effectively replacing England’s No2 and a large fee. Unfortunately, In our case that pressure hasn't made a diamond.Tbh I'm not even sure it's hindsight. There were plenty on here suggesting there were alternative options to Ramsdale out there even before he signed. The fee was always a big question mark for me.
Was Henderson’s effort to allow in Salah’s second goal for Liverpool vs Man U (through his legs), better or worse than Rammer’s effort yesterday?
Discuss.
Aye a driven low shot from about the penalty spot while he’s still adjusting from the cut back is much more difficult to save than a weak as piss shot from outside the box that should be straight down your throat. Was Henderson’s effort to allow in Salah’s second goal for Liverpool vs Man U (through his legs), better or worse than Rammer’s effort yesterday?

100% better. For a goalkeeper saving a shot from that close with your legs is really had. Ramsdales was a weak shot and he had plenty of time to get in the right position. Was Henderson’s effort to allow in Salah’s second goal for Liverpool vs Man U (through his legs), better or worse than Rammer’s effort yesterday?

£40Million on Brewster?!The 40m spent on Brewster could have gone on some lower value gambles such as Toney from Peteborough, and then fill out the team with pros who would have let us consolidate, especially to replace the GK, LCB and to give some Attacking Flair to the team

I don't think Hendo wanted to come mate, otherwise I'd agree. For foster's fee/wages we could've loan Hendo for another year with change left over... plus then we don't disrupt the wage structure, we can justify a loan as it's another club's wage structure we are adhering to... or if it's that much of a problem, we could negotiate to pay Hendo's loan as a flat fee and not contribute wages
