So,

regardless of whether things change and we finally start scoring and winning or drawing games or not, what do you think we should do in Jan?

Sell Lunny? Convince him to stay? Sell Berge? Sell Norwood? What about Rodwell? Or any of the keepers?

If we buy/loan who would you get?

What is a realistic and positive transfer window?

If we can get back close to what we paid I would be tempted to sell Berge. He’s shown flashes of real quality but often seems so far off the pace and doesn’t seem a comfortable fit in our system. Without wanting to sound defeatist, it is hard to see him sticking around next season and his value is only likely to go one way unless there is a dramatic improvement in his form.

I actually think Lunny should be back in the team, although i suppose if a decent offer came in we would have to consider it. Can’t see it myself otherwise he’d have gone in the summer.

We should look to get something for lunny if possible before he goes on a free, get rid of Rodwell and Kean and bring in a good lcb on loan atleast and a mobile midfielder on loan or xfer to replace lunny and another that can play in the middle as a playmaker if possible with Norwood looking poor atm or recall freeman and play fleck in the middle

Yeh I think I agree. Berge seems to have fallen off a cliff confidence wise. Lunny seems to be playing for time as well. We need some midfielders in if they both go though!

Midfielders the priority then really? I agree re an lcb as well, a must have really.

I can't see that happening until atleast summer we only just got ramsdale can't see the owner signing off more money for another gk

Rojo on loan
Wilshere free transfer paid per game he plays until end of season
Besic on a permanent deal

A couple of European loans, perhaps there's some top players out there that need game time to get in their national team squad for the Euros
Some sense in there mate. Gray at Leicester as well maybe?

I'd disagree with berge he's still young and can adapt at his age and if we develop him for a couple of years he could become much better than the rest of our current midfield or we could sell him at a profit rather than a loss like we would atm
Fair enough. My question is does he want to be here anymore? He was playing in the champions league before he joined us.

Yep perhaps, also suggested Winks on loan previously. We may need to send Ethan back to make that happen tho

Gray offers us something different, but doesn't play in 'the system' so will be ignored.

Maybe we will be forced to try a new system?
Ps can’t see winks coming to us.

Agreed. We have bigger problems

We have got what we should have expected with Ramsdale - an average or slightly below average premier league keeper. He’s doing what is expected of him in terms of saves or expected goals conceded . But the numbers told you he wasn’t going to be winning us matches like hendo did.

he’s basically let in the same number as an average keeper would do. When you look at him he comes 15 out of 29 keepers that have played

Agreed. He is a downgrade on Henderson but not the worst player in the team currently. His confidence looks shot tho

I'd only sell Berge if he wanted out and someone was prepared to give us our money back.
Get shut of Lunny if we can bring a few million in for him.
I'd be sorely tempted to try and bring in a midfielder permanently if he does go. I presume one of the loans will be in midfield but we're short in that area as it is. The other loan will no doubt be at CB.

Yep, I'd also give Luke Freeman a run. Looked ok in the games he played for us last season.

I don't think berge has shown any sign of not wanting to play for us or thinking he's to big for the club, he does some things we'll imo he drives with the ball and is hard to tackle when he does, he can hold up the ball if needed, he needs to work on his defensive side a bit.

I would say the issue with his drives is he then has to go backwards a lot of the time and it's not his fault, this is an asset to have a player that can drive the ball forward and our other players should be getting into positions for passes rather than just stood watching him.

I'd argue its the same issue we have with mcburnie where he can get his head to the ball but more often than not there's no one in a position to pick up the second ball.

Anyway to summarise my feelings about the main midfield issue - poor off the ball movement, means our players don't have passing options so go backwards or hoof and hope. I think if we get this right and players have options again it won't get lumped long and we can play out again.

I think Berge has been getting worse recently, he seems like he has given up to me. He has potential to be a good player, but overall i'm not sure.

It's hard for any attacking player to perform how we are playing defensively with 20% possession and long I don't think he's been any worse than anyone else playing in the midfield personally they have all been poor lol

If the midfielder is good enough, they can change the percentage of possession no?
