I really feel sorry for Sander ,nice kid , good player , wrong team , not his fault , since we brought him we have gone down hill , again not his fault , were just not a fit .
We need a clear out when we go down , again we need to keep Wilder , but I would add to that his signings have not been good , lets hope he gets it right 2nd time around on who he keeps , gets rid of and signs !

I'm not one for picking g on individuals but what part of his game oozes class,? I've not seen it yet ! Ok he has some poor players around him but he doesn't show real class .Ball control not great! Movement not great ! Defensive qualities not great! Attacking wise not great.

He ,'s still young ish at 23 and has time to get better but he's way off being outstanding from what I've seen.
Not picking on him ! It would be great if he stood out in a poor team but he doesn't.

Wouldn’t expect you to. We should expect more but I’m suggesting he’s not being helped at all by non-contributing midfielders around him. Why bother paying any attention to any of the other three when you can double up on Berge and negate our only threat from midfield. It’s too easy for teams to do that, but that is not his fault.

I think it's a also a bit easy to let Berge of he hook that way. Is there any evidence that people are focusing on him because they can ignore the others?

For me, he is part of a non performing midfield. He's part of the problem, though nothing like the whole of the problem.

He is easily good enough for the Premiership, just needs better players around him.

I’m sure he is good enough, but players like him frustrate me. If he’s too good for us and needs better players, why isn’t he showing it. If he was creating five good chances every week or people kept giving the ball away after he gave it to them, or he was putting in tackle after tackle every week, I could understand it.

But he’s just not. Flashes of brilliance in amongst long periods of doing nothing.

He’s drifting through games and with his ability, and no doubt wages, it wants sorting.

Good player, pointless signing.

We're playing him out of position and we'd have been far better off buying a mobile RCM who offers similar to what an in form Fleck does.

Instead we're playing a deep lying midfielder in the role and despite him clearly being good at football, he's quite ineffective.

As far as I recall he was signed as PA wanted him, and was not a specific CW requirement. I just don't see him being utilised effectively in our system. Unless we change our system I can't see him being here next year no matter what happens.

I think it's come to the point where we have to change the system. Berge is a passenger at the moment and we definitely can't afford any of those in our current plight. The midfield are neither protecting the defence nor creating anything going forward. Lunny wants away, Norwood has lost his Ping, Fleck looks unfit etc.
Berge is 6' 4"+ and is so soft its unreal, he should be immense in there but just isn't.

Every time we've played Norwood and Berge in the same team we lose. They're both too passive defensively and with Fleck not at the same levels as last season it's leaving us in a real mess. Berge is a better player than Norwood but his game is different and it's not helping us at the moment. Berge's default pass is 10 yards to feet, Norwood's 20 yards into space. The issue for both at the moment is the lack of movement - Berge needs the small runs off the ball to move it quickly; Norwood needs targets and at the moment there are too many hiding.

If we're going to persist with Burke up front then painful as it is we need to bring Norwood back in as he's the only midfielder who, in theory, can play the early balls in behind the opposition for Burke to get onto (and, no doubt, fall over). We then need to play Lundstram on the right to give us a little more defensive rigidity.

That’s all Burke can do is run he certainly is no footballer

I think we need to admit defeat with Mousset. He never ever going to be fully fit and commited

There is a difference between playing in the Champions League and being a Champions League level player. Sander's record in that competition is W0 D1 L5. Four of those losses were pastings by three or more goals.

If the world had not descended in to chaos and we'd sneaked a Champions League place last season, John Lundstram would probably already have a better record than that.

One of my best mates played 4 games in the champions league back in 2001 for barry town. Won 3 out 4 including beating Porto and played against Deco. Now a motivational speaker.

I tend to agree with the original post. He doesn't have the energy that our tactics demand of the players. Must be a big reason we are such a soft touch defensively in midfield. He isn't being helped by the fact nobody ever really wants to pass him the ball either. If i were manager my instructions to Rammers would be roll it out to Sander and we play from there.

He'll be gone in January anyway and if he does it's because we are still rock bottom and so keep the money for the championship coffers.

A bit suprised of the support for offloading. For me, in a team full of trying but ultimately limited players, especially in midfield, id be very disappointed if we got rid of our most talented, if currently under effective, midfielder.

Building on our midfield in Jan/ the summer should revolve around him IMO.
