The technology for requiring a Covid Season Ticket to enter a ground would actually be very straightforward. I've been to 17 games with fans this season. The vast majority of those have been.... Point your NHS App at a QR code at the turnstile, it pings & puts a check in certificate on your screen, the steward checks that by eye & lets you pass to the turnstile. My Covid test results are already on that same App. That's all the same App. The only "technology" the host club needs is an A4 printout of the QR code. (I've also been at UEFA Tournaments where all entry is via Smartphones). Here's how it plays out.....
The Premier League as an international multi dollar business are, as always, image conscious, they actively want to be seen as exemplar, to be free from controversy. They decide, for their business, they want Covid Season Tickets. It's not like Utd fans can just decide to "use another pub" or "fly with another airline". The NHS App, QR code, linked to your test results & Vaccine status already exists. And it is already proving to be spectacularly easy to use entering football grounds, requiring one steward per turnstile as the PL already have.
I can choose to have the Vaccine
I can choose to use a smartphone
The Premier League & Sheffield United Saudi World Of Adventure FC (or whatever we're called now) can choose to require a Vaccine Season Ticket by amending four fucking sentences in the T&C's
Choose
Then, those who choose not to have e Vaccine or choose not to use a smartphone are choosing to not go.
Choose.

But that’s the means of it, right now. You don’t seriously suggest that’s the end game?
And if so, why on earth would it be the case?
Perhaps they want to change society to have more control of people's behavior
