Confess your unpopular opinions regarding SUFC

Wilder's reluctance/stubbornness to look for players abroad and/or sign big name players is frustrating and I fear it's going to cost us this season.

We have signed players from abroad though? One of them is playing in midfield for us right now.

I don't think he is opposed to foreign players as much as we think he is. He isn't like Nigel Clough that barely looks beyond Derby County for a player.

Considering that Wilder signed two players from Derby and two players who came from Nottingham Forest and one that used to doesn't help dispel that comparison ;)

Edit: McGoldrick also played for Forest as well as Burke, forgot about him!

I think your making alot of assumptions there. We clearly couldn't afford a team of big name players for a start.

Hardly like when Young Nigel had his GT News running brother signing the finest east-midlands born players or some height impaired Scottish championship midfielder.

I could get hung drawn and quartered for this one .....

Id love Wednesday to get promoted as nothing would satisfy me more than beating them twice a year in the premier league
We couldn't beat them twice a year in the championship, and they were gash 😆

I’ve always wanted them lot to do well, just as long as it’s not better than us (e.g. roles reversed in that 92/93 season, but without losing the league derbies)

I’ve also grown to hate derbies though, so I don’t care either way.

Is that two unpopular opinions in one?

He and Knill be the top of the list target for Rangers.
Gerrard will fail to stop 10IAR, and will resign for a job in England.

Lydon I said other day I think CWAK will resign at some point this season not to go elsewhere primarily, I just think he'll get fed up of having to do job with hands tied behind his back.

That'll go down well at Ibrox!! They'll not be paying any compensation.
Looking at your view, he'd not have any money at Rangers like the biscuit tin kitty he has with The Prince.
There'd be more than a car park demonstration if Wilder was to walk through no fault of his own.

Yes you are probably right but remember it's what United do so well in years gone by, they get on to a good thing/manager and then they let it run to wrack & ruin. I've seen every manager since and including Sir John Harris & Wilder is up and away the best of the bunch

Brian the blade mentioned on the Daily Mail website. never thought I would see that.
I will be listening to praise and grumble later.it would be great to hear we have breaking news.
Rhian Brewster has signed for the Blades.

Father LYDON was slightly after you. He'd been there from Haslam/Peters, in his opinion, Bassett for motivation and Kendall for the football. Was never a big fan of Warnock and unfortunately, the only Wilder he knew was as a player.

This season I think SUFC won't reach the heights of last season, it'll be a much different Wilder, who'll have to go through a season of struggling and more matches lost than won/drawn. I think he's got the capabilities as a manager to succeed, but I think the board at SUFC will fall short in the aspirations, financially. Maybe Wilder will outgrow SUFC, I don't believe there's a club in England who could tempt him away from Bramall Lane, but wider afield, most definitely.

Yep I'm an old git, Bassett was Basset he got the job done with minimum of fuss and fans loved him, Kendall knew the game & Spackman I feel we could have reached good heights under him, like you I wasn't a Warnock fan I have followed Wilder's managerial career to see how he progressed and he's had a great time thus far.

I'm the opposite, I absolutely loathe derbies and I'd happily never play Wednesday again. Once upon a time that would have qualified as an unpopular opinion but it seems to me that derbies are generally less liked than they used to be. I could be wrong.
