Hopefully if a decent fixture like England/NZ/Australia vs one of the smaller teams on a weekend it might have some pulling power just hope its not Jamaica vs Samoa on a Thursday night !

Nice to see BDTBL getting a mention showing it's true capacity rather than the one imposed by SYP & Co. I'm not sure what they'll make of that and even funnier will be the look on their faces when the RL fans troop into their seats with pints of beer in their hands.

Its great for the city as wheelchair rugby is set for English Institute of Sport too and other cities have the Womens game.

Arsenal, Man U , Leeds, Liverpool etc don't seem to bothered about their pitches being roughed up by those nasty Rugby League players do they?
You could argue that Rugby League is less damaging to a pitch than Rugby Union which has properly contested scrums, rucks and mauls to contend with. In League the scrums are uncontested and are used as a means of restarting the game. After a tackle play stops and is restarted by the "play the ball". This must be much less damaging to the pitch than Union. I look forward to it and see this as another feather in the cap of SUFC.

If we just did the Kop that'd be fine. We should increase the capacity and rake, and offer some incentive tickets to get it filled up.

Get 3000 more on the Kop, a new Kop corner, indoor concourses. Biggest Kop in England, something for GSync to brag about.

And if we're ever a PL stalwart, that's when you do the South Stand.

It’s supposed to be an England game so there should be a decent turn out. Pretty sure I’ll be going anyway but isn’t this another piece of history to add to record for the ground, I don’t remember England playing rugby league at The Lane before.

Yeah but there’s a small chance he’d take it out of that company to re-invest in the club, if he still owned both, as opposed to no chance whatsoever if the Prince wins.

The only bugger mate, is that they've made it expensive. There's far bigger, better matches in the World Cup far cheaper. England should do okay, but we'll have qualified by then anyway and Greece will be utterly shite.

So really the only charm is it being at BDTBL and we go there anyway! Totally take the point of it being great that international sport is being played at the Lane, and England at that...I just think it should be half the price and has no chance selling out.

Luckily for me I got into World Cup games for free last time it was here but no such luck this time around and certainly not at those prices.
Upper class rugby union types would fork out that kind of money to go to Twickenham but not to watch England make heavy weather of beating a load of Aussie reserve grade players with Greek surnames.
