We may have already signed the striker that will score the goals we need. A few matches to get used to the system and I have a feeling Mr Burke may be the man and he’s already here.

The lad does have the potential and Chris has a knack of rejuvenating flagging careers.

look at the players he has already done this with


Any additional striker is a bonus
 



He's not good enough.
Couldn't shine even for Celtic in what was a one team League with 20 clear cut chances made every game
 
Can't get on board with this lad's very quick but his shooting is poor. His goals so far have been tap ons or slipping it past the keeper, they all count of course and an early goal will do him the world of good, if he gets to5 I'll be pleased
 
I share your enthusiasm on this one.

The fear would be, as WBA fans have warned us about, is he more sprinter than baller ?

Time will tell.

Let's hope you're right as it looks like we're not going to be signing Brewster. I can't see why Liverpool would send him out on loan if they're willing to listen to offers and have had a bid put in already, especially since they've splashed the cash recently and will be looking to recoup some of the money.

The flip side is that even if Brewster does sign he's unproven in the top flight. There's no saying that he'll hit the ground running and get double figures, same with the lad we're after from Arsenal.

We're in the position of either sticking with last season's strikers and hoping they improve from their experience last season, or we're taking punts on unproven youngsters in the hope that we unearth a gem. To sign a player who's pretty much guaranteed to get you 10 goals plus will likely set you back £30mil+ with wages out of our reach.

With Sharp looking past it, McBurnie being all huff and puff and no end product, Didsy needing 50 shots to score and Mousset never being fit, there's a lot of pressure on Burke to deliver, and up until now he's not exactly set the footballing world on fire in his career. Let's hope Wilder can get through to him in a way that he couldn't with Ravel Morrison.
 
He may or may not become the goalscorer we need, but based on what I have seen so far I think he will cause some havoc regardless. The way he was closing down those Burnley defenders was impressive, and almost led to a few mistakes by them.

He reminded me of what Matt Done was doing in league 1, he just never stopped. And that worked really well alongside Sharp.

So it might be a case of him doing the hard miles, and another striker benefitting?
 
Never been a goalscorer though.

If the Celtic terrorists thought he wasn't good enough for the SPL he's got a big step up to make.

Not sure, tbf. I got a slap on the wrist once when I was on the forum in drink. Not proud of it but there you go, was probably worthy of a forum holiday at the time as well, more so than just being called a twat

Besides, I've been called far worse.
