Given how desperate we are for more quality up front, the fact that after the season has started we seem to still be pinning our hopes on a loan signing does feel a bit tinpot.

I know they are in talks with Sarr of Watford and Doku of anderlecht but they’re both wingers, doesn’t leave them a back up strikerTurkish side Fenerbahce are in talks with Liverpool over signing Belgium striker Divock Origi, with Aston Villa, Newcastle, Brighton and Fulham also interested in the 25-year-old. Why would Liverpool want origi and Brewster out , that leaves them short up front
That sums up our current crisis upfrontrelying on Sharp and McGoldrick to score
My brain jumped to Steve BruceThank f**k for that , I was thinking Alex Bruce for a moment !![]()
If there's anything in this Brewster rumour just hope he didn't watch us last night otherwise it might be a big fuck off!I read yesterday that we were trying to persuade Liverpool to let us have Brewster on loan, by providing them with a detailed personal development plan for him!
The Star said we'd put together a very comprehensive 21 page document, detailing how we'd plan to develop him if they let him come to us. I bet that's just what they were looking for eh?
Try offering them a bit more money - that might be a better ploy?

Got to be honest I've never seen him play but if he's half decent he would probably walk into our team.Alternatively, he might have seen it and thought “I can probably start regularly in this team”.

If you mean under Wilder, then that is a bit of myth.
The state of some people on here? Do we have a billionaire owner like Portugal wanderers? Did we spend nigh on £100m to get out of the championship? Do we have the spending power to go after the likes of Jimenez, Traore, Podence, Netto? Do people think CWAK prefer to buy championship/division 3 players over proven premier league players? Get a fu#king grip! If we get to Portugal wanderers level and lose a game we shouldn’t have, I’ll be the first on here causing havoc, until then, pErSpEcTiVe FFS.Yes, because that’s exactly what I said isn’t it.. Just like you’ve just said we were great tonight and there was no cause for concern whatsoever.
Somebody has the audacity to point out that we weren’t great tonight, and weren’t towards the end of last season and they must be implying we’re shit and always have been? Ridiculous. We were poor tonight and relied on hopeful balls into the box too often. All I was doing was pointing out that if we play like that often, Brewster wouldn’t make a bit of difference. We need to get back to what made us successful in the first place.
I'm not so sure it is a myth. Our first 3 games always seem to be problematical. The highest points tally after 3 games under Wilder so far is 4pts. Usually well on course after 6 games.

Need good results from next two to get some confidence.

Too much pressure imo. With the age of some of the players (not qualifying for the 25) and Mousset's injury, we should be looking at bringing in Brewster and another playmaker/St. Not saying we go mad but there are players out there for free, cheap or loan that would add something.Back on thread op.
If the Brewster signing does happen, there will be alot of hope pinned on that young lads shoulders.
Give overThe only game i can see us winning is Fulham,no chance with the rest.
There’s no way we’re spending 40 more million pounds, and finance doesn’t work like that. We’ll get another striker and that’s all we need to guarantee another season in the prem.I think we need Brewster and one other, someone like the lad from Bayern on loan?
Those two and Buendia for an investment of about £40m, would guarantee another season in the Premier League in my opinion and another £100m plus windfall.
We simply cannot afford to risk relegation for the sake of an investment less than the parachute payments we’d receive should the unthinkable happen.

Correct, so do we accept due to owner wealth we are at risk this season? We don't have that sort of money available.

It's not so much owner wealth, it's about being sensible within the constraints of the current global situation.Correct, so do we accept due to owner wealth we are at risk this season?
