I can't give owt away, but there is connection to the club

I know next to nowt other than what he said, which was that he has signed and he did say permanent.

We'll see and I accept I'll be proper hammered if it turns out to be bollox
Tic tic, tic tic ;)

Listening to the Wilder interview I feel he is stressing the importance of a striker which we obviously know, but it sounds as if he is trying to justify a big spend on such a vital position. He does however sound pissed off due to the loss.

Yeah... We're rubbish eh, always have been, definitely haven't plowed through the leagues to critical acclaim...

One opening day performance v an extremely good team...

Yes, because that’s exactly what I said isn’t it. 🥴. Just like you’ve just said we were great tonight and there was no cause for concern whatsoever.

Somebody has the audacity to point out that we weren’t great tonight, and weren’t towards the end of last season and they must be implying we’re shit and always have been? Ridiculous. We were poor tonight and relied on hopeful balls into the box too often. All I was doing was pointing out that if we play like that often, Brewster wouldn’t make a bit of difference. We need to get back to what made us successful in the first place.

In fairness i was probably irked by your negative remarks after reading too many from various people. Yours were specific to tonight.

I did exaggerate, apologies.

No problem. We all want the same thing. As I said in another post, we are notoriously slow starters (despite this being our first premier league opening day loss, apparently). I’m sure we all hope performances and results pick up pretty quickly just like they have done the past few seasons. A decent signing before the deadline and a couple of decent performances and tonight can be put down to experience and moved on from.

Agree & I've got a strong feeling the outcome will be very similar.

Same here, I was quite confident of this one before the weekend but conflicting reports continue to come out, it's not looking like a dead cert, and I'm becoming very intrigued by what our plan is if it's not Brewster? Wilder has seemed very confident of landing his target, whether it's 1a, 1b or 1c etc. just odd there seems to have been such a long hold up with no new developments

If you mean under Wilder, then that is a bit of myth. We started badly in two of the seasons that he has been with us. That might become three of course if we don't get a win from the next couple.

What !? Get back to third division ?!?!?! - we only left the bugger 3 seasons ago

NB Doom merchants need not respond - that's a free hit / tap in that any babby- liner could finish, in fact even Conor Sammon would at least hit the woodwork with such an opportunity

Somebody messaged me earlier saying he was told we have bid 30 million, which sounds crazy to me.

He's not usually somebody ITK, just what we was told. I think it's probably bollocks, but thought I would share it anyway.

A bad start after the break last season, too. But yes I agree, there's no real pattern, sometimes we start well and sometimes we don't.

How did that work out?
oh yeah, no bids

Had a car like that once. Used to have to take the spark plugs out and warm 'em up in the oven before it would start.

Maybe that's what the problem is with United? Need a bit more spark up front? 🤔

I read yesterday that we were trying to persuade Liverpool to let us have Brewster on loan, by providing them with a detailed personal development plan for him!

The Star said we'd put together a very comprehensive 21 page document, detailing how we'd plan to develop him if they let him come to us. I bet that's just what they were looking for eh? 😆

Try offering them a bit more money - that might be a better ploy?

Probably just copied and pasted the document issued to Man United and took out "Dean/Deano/Henderson/Hendo" and inserted Rhian/Rhi-Rhi/Bruce/Brewster".....job done.👍

Turkish side Fenerbahce are in talks with Liverpool over signing Belgium striker Divock Origi, with Aston Villa, Newcastle, Brighton and Fulham also interested in the 25-year-old. (Mirror)

Why would Liverpool want origi and Brewster out , that leaves them short up front
