Weirdly, there's no dedicated thread for Kean, not one that I can find via the search function at least. Anyway, still very much part of the plans by the looks of things -



Received a squad number too, so who knows, maybe we could see him getting minutes this season. I personally thought he looked like a new player in the pre-season games this summer, although admittedly against weaker opposition then we'll face in the PL this season. Fingers crossed, be good to see him come good.

I have seen this guy 3 times. Utter shite 3 times. And one of those times was against pigs reserves ffs.
 
Didn't he play in most of the friendlies last season too? He's looked okay but it's not much to go on and I expect he'll be in the squad for absolute emergencies only.

But i'd give him 1/10.
 
There was a wrestler employed by WWE in the 2010s called JTG.

After a bit of early success, he became notorious for never actually appearing on the TV shows, but he managed to stay employed for years and years simply by turning up to the arenas and basically hiding and avoiding management backstage. Everybody in power, the writers, etc forgot about him and never used him, yet he still got paid a very decent wage for travelling from city to city, eating free catering and never actually having to do anything. He somehow survived several big time redundancy culls and became more famous with fans (and his co-workers) for this legendary run than anything else.

When I think of Kean Bryan, I think of JTG.

Until this season every time I've seen him he's been crap, with the occasional good pass that lets you know he was at a decent academy. Think I must've seen him play at least 5 or 6 games by now in the cups, almost certain they were all at LCB though.

This preseason he's played at LWB and looks a completely different player, good with the ball, didn't give it away, great crosses. Derby and Preston might not be Premier League teams but they're a lot better than Barnet, who I saw make him look like he was playing with a blindfold on as a CB.

Now we have Lowe I don't think he'll get much if any game time, but as a LWB, I don't mind him.

Odd, isn't it? He's been pretty abject whenever he's played for us so far - yet CW & AK haven't binned him.
 
Even if he has improved, it's hard to see him getting into the matchday squad unless there are injuries. For the LWB position it's Stevens & Lowe slugging it out and I can Osborn and J Robinson acting as cover before young Kean at the moment.

But then again who knows. I would love to see him kick on and contribute this season. It just looks tough for him, as things stand.

Has he been transfer listed? Why would bids come in, if the club haven't advertised his availability?

Gotta say, his performances in the pre-season games were probably a personal highlight, along with Berge and Slater. He looked completely transformed from the player we saw against Barnet etc. So much more competent, virtually unrecognisable when compared to how he played back then. Its either LWB really suits him or he's taken a massive step forward in the last 12 months or so. Who knows, maybe something as everyday as having a baby has given him the emphasis to push that little bit harder in training to make a difference.

If he comes good, great. If not, he's one of 27(8) looking for a place in a 25 man squad.

Let's give the lad a chance, same as any player in our squad...he's with her out ov Corrie, n any player with a fit bird from a soap deservers a chance.
 



He was Maldini in his prime last pre season!

Think it’s better for all parties he moves on loan and I believe that will see out his contract.

Last year of his contract, so my guess is that he will be loaned out at some point to try and win a deal elsewhere.

We run a lean ship don't we. That is just about our entire senior player squad at 27 players., plus a couple out on loan I think Southampton have 55 registered professionals as a contrast. I wonder who we are keeping the famous 24 and 27 shirts open for ?

A few observations:

Whose are those boots right at the start, with the keepie ups? They're a thing of beauty.

Egan's reaction to picking the shirt up: I've got to fucking wear what? I'm a man's man from Co, y'know.

McBurnie: you can tell he's like that kid in your class at school, always on the wind up, always switched on. Loved by all.

You can tell how immensely proud the Skipper is to be involved in every part of this journey. He's us. We're lucky to have him.
 
Let's not forget that we've seen players come from nowhere under Wilder, like Lundstram last season for example.

Writing him off would be foolish, especially if it's based solely on the Barnet game.
 
Things have gone so well for us the past few seasons that some fans seem to be struggling to find an outlet for their abuse. Bryan is unlikely to ever become a regular, but he's not a bad player. He's gradually got used to how we play and could potentially do a job in five positions. As cover he's a cheaper, already adapted/integrated alternative to the likes of Retsos.
 
Like Osborn and Robinson and probably Burke, he was probably never intended to make a league appearance.

We have a first eleven, a couple of others who we don't mind using and a load of squad fillers that are not really part of it.

We love a back up player, it's just when we have to use them...

He’s done a damn good impression of a bad player in his FA Cup appearances....
