Speedo has slightly changed his stance to 'If anything happens it will be before the Burnley game' so here's hoping.

Dont expect anything particularly exciting to happen. We dont have the money to bring someone in with the quality to make a huge difference and those sorts of players arent going to be available in a loan window.

The best you can hope for is another Ritchie De Laet (no offence to the lad as he looks a good prospect), but young blood looking for experience is all you're going to get. We need proven ability at the moment but like I said, that sort of money isnt there.

I dont look out for signings, or in our case loan signings anymore as ive seen hundreds come and go to little effect. All clubs like ourselves are doing is feeding off the chaff better sides dont want.

Sorry to put a dampener on any hopes you've got, maybe they'll surprise me and clinch a real coup but I massively doubt it. I'm just hoping what we've got and what we've got coming back from injury will get better.

Apologies Dave i've been on Holiday. Mind you a cursory glance over the last fortnight's post's doesn't reveal that i've missed any particularly interesting debates.

That one has come up in the past. Last season I think? Decent player but if we sign any more defenders we may as well play with six at the back! Why not? The midfield is non-existent anyway.

If Speed brings in any players on loan it is unlikely that he will do it until next week. No point in wasting part of their loan period on a blank weekend.
