For any new or existing members, we try and get a game of football on every week - as long as we can get a minimum of 8 people confirming.

It's a friendly kick around for a couple of hours open to anyone who wants to turn up, regardless of skill, age or fitness... do feel free to bring a mate. The main aim is to have a laugh.

Venue: Goals, 95 Norfolk Park Road, S2 2RU

Time: 18:00

Cost: The cost of the pitch (at the moment £68.50) is shared equally between players each depending on how many turn up.

What you need: Trainers, moulded or astro-turf boots. No studs. Shinpads optional.

Feel free to respond to this post, or PM me your mobile number and I'll add you to our WhatsApp group for Tuesday or Thursday or both if you're feeling adventurous.

I'll join you for a game sometime this month. Just had my first day back at the gym in months today with a view to shifting the lockdown timber and regaining some fitness, so I'll be all over this once I'm a bit more up to scratch.

P. S I'm shit.

As am I, but they still let me play :)

Hope to see you down there when you're available.

No chance of being back from work and to goals for 6pm I'm afraid.

Now that I have your attention, scroll up.

Hello yes it'd be good if others would like to play the football with us.

This isn't a forum football post, there's no poll. Where's the poll? I want to be able to vote.

I think Goals are being more strict with their timings in Covid times too. Foxy has been down a few times and it was limited to an hour.

Out of interest how many do you get turning up on a weekly basis?
I've just got back into 11-a-side and the extra workout midweek definitely wouldn't go a miss.
I'm another of those who can only make it at 7pm though.

If was in Sheffield I'd be there, let me know when you do a tour of West Berkshire.

Can't do midweeks as I don't live locally, still go to Sunday games when I can.
If I'm in Sheffield on a Tuesday though, I'll join in.

Looks like Tuesdays will be at 6:30 if that helps anyone out that struggle for 6pm.

One of these days when my knee is better I might pop down...normally play Weds at Goals anyway but severe knee tendonitis has sidelined me for a year. I do worry I would be rated tho....erm slated on here (3/10 - non existent again)

I’d recommend going down if you fancy it. I run the Sundays and we have a good set of lads who are all reliable and turn up every week, a lot of which are there on Thursdays (and Tuesdays when it starts). Mixed abilities but everyone puts effort in, plays fair and enjoys the game. Get yourselves down 👍

Will it now be 3 a side after Sunday and until the next great COVID plan is revealed?

The guidance updated yesterday states:

"There will be exceptions where groups can be larger than 6 people, including....outdoor sport..."

and that link, which was updated today, says

"Outdoor sports courts, outdoor gyms, outdoor swimming pools and playgrounds and other outdoor sporting activities can reopen if those responsible for them are ready to do so and they can do so safely..."

So as things stand I don't think the new regulations will stop us playing.

"Organised team sports" are exempt. We'll have to wait for the full details to be published to know whether that means just professional games or we would be covered.

Strikes me as one of those "the Devil's in the details" things.

Personally, I'd say something like Forum footy is "organised" because you have to book the pitch, Goals has to be Covid compliant, etc. Unorganised would be a bunch of you rocking up to a park and having a kickabout.

Are the Sunday/Tues/Thur games still going ahead in light of this new "rule of 6" COVID rule?
Edit: just seen Cassius Kray's reply above.
