Outgoing? Mousset?

I think for the fee we paid for this lad, it isn't unreasonable to expect him to be able to play for 90 minutes. He looked totally shot after 30 mins in most matches last season, and this wasn't due to him busting a gut whilst he was on the pitch.

Compare his work rate to McBurnie (and many others) and the contrast in fitness/effort is clear for all to see.

We've now given the lad every opportunity to get his head and body right for next season. Whether he takes that chance is up to him. If not, CW needs to act fast.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect any injury-free professional footballer to be able to play for 90 minutes, tbh, irrespective of the fee paid. Especially a professional footballer in his early ‘20s. The game’s come to a sorry place otherwise.

Like many on here, I love the fit and firing version of Moose to bits. Big season coming up for him, career-wise.

Edit: not that any of this is news, obvs. As Uncle Bob Dylan once put it, “If there’s an original thought out there, I could use it right now”.

Not good enough though is it. He clearly does not take being a top flight professional player seriously, he has some abilty but the attitude is miles off.
when you consider that the biggest factor in CW recruitment is attitude , I really can't understand Howe Eddie had our pants down with Moose.
did we seriously have no clue about his halfbaked attitude to fitness ?
not being able to run around because you're out of breath is unforgiveable in a professional athlete.
people say CW should act fast and move him on , but who would give us a fee or pay his wages ?
it will be really interesting to hear the next excuses put forward on Mousset's behalf , if the local media find the balls to ask about his inability to get fitter

I think he's on borrowed time and wouldn't be surprised if he was loaned to some French side before the window closes.

If he can't get fit, and he;s a player who relies on pace, then he's little or no use relative to his cost.

His pace remains though, he doesn't get slower, he runs fast, but less, or he's too fucked to shoot at the end.

He's only been with the squad a week or something anyway, so I'll hold fire on his true fitness until we've played a couple of games in anger. For me, he didn't look absolutely fucked like he did at times last season, but was nowhere near as fit as some of our players such as Jack Robinson, Osborn, Bash.

Bash and Osborn are 100% in terms of fitness, attitude and determination. Maybe pair one of them with Moose in training, see if some of it rubs off?
TBF Moose is from a completely different culture. Last chance saloon for him, and his poor attitude. Potential squandered .......

and sharp to be fair, he must have lost a stone or two and he put on muscle in the lead up to our Premier League season, model professional to show he wants his place that much, if Mousset did the same he’d be getting 10 goals a season easy

I'm not getting the Moose bashing guys......

Yes hes had a few health and personal issues last year, but when he's fit (physically and mentally) he is our best striker. Just think back to the Man U home game as one of the many examples.

Not all players have to run their blood to water to be good.

I wouldn't say embarrassing. Not even disappointing. More or less in line with expectations. Did OK for 20 minutes, then started blowing a bit, slowly declined to a half time substitution.

He doesn't look like someone who is going to take the league by storm any time soon, but he will probably perform a decent 15 minute role from the bench most weeks. Maybe that's enough for us? At £6-10m it's probably all we can expect. Just a bit of a shame because we all know he could be so much more.
Sorry, the price has nothing to do with it. For any professional footballer I expect a player than can last 90 mins at some stage of his career at the very fucking least.

Moose can win games on his own, we simply don’t have that with anyone else currently

He has never regularly played 90 minutes in his career even at le havre he played less than 1500 minutes across the season. The signing was a gamble and if it doesn't work out so be it. The fee we paid relative to the premier league is fairly cheap as well.

Some of our fans honestly baffle me sometimes

Moussett:
- finishes top-scorer
- Gets most assists
- promoted to number 11
- Wilder says in an interview that he thinks the world of Moose and that he and Mcburnie are going to be so important for us this season.

Fan interpretation: Moose is bad for us and will be loaned out or sold.

Callum Robinson on the other hand:
- 1 goal
- 1 assist
- constantly gives the ball away and neshes out of challenges.
- bought for pace, but is slower than teletext.
- dropped to number 27 & Wilder doesn’t mention him when he name checks every other striker to big them up ahead of the new season.

Fan interpretation: We should keep this guy.

Obviously its not all of us, but a significant minority. Are you the same geniuses that think we should sign Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Ibe and Ryan ‘piece of shit’ Fraser?

Just to clarify, I didn't like all of the post but the bits I did like I really liked. Definitely worth a like on balance.

Similar! I liked essentially all of it, but I have also mentioned Ibe on a free as a reclamation project...!

So what you are saying is, we are offloading Mousset and Robinson to make way for Messi.

I knew it!

Whilst your post is seemingly popular, I don't think I've seen any single poster suggest we should both get rid of Mousset AND keep C Robinson.

I also don't think anybody has misinterpreted Wilder's words - rather, they themselves are of the opinion that we should get rid of Mousset based on what they have seen with their own eyes.

For what it's worth, I'd keep Mousset for at least one more year.
He adds too much value to not persist with. However, if things haven't improved by the end of the season then I would expect to see him to be back at a French club this time next year where he may well find a bit more happiness and excel.

C Robinson can go this Summer for me. He's not a bad player, I think at WBA or Newcastle (or any below midtable Prem club that plays with wide attackers) he could have some form of positive impact. But that isn't going to be here.
He needs to receive the ball facing goal and run at defenders. We can't get him into those positions with our system.

Run around a lot = good at football
Have Explosive pace in short, sharp bursts = bad at football

I knew it! Confirms it for me.

Moose is wank.

A reference to Teletext, the personal highlight for me.
