With McBurnie seemingly injured a striker addition becomes even more important. I agree Dennis is our main target and can see us spending big on him.

Villa Get Watkins, Leeds have Rodrigo, Brighton Get González, Fulham don’t particularly need a striker but could see them going in for Origi, leaves us with no premier league rival for our target. Just depends on foreign clubs
Yeah I could see Atlanta being really attractive for someone like Dennis...

because of our lack of funds it seems that CW is using the transfer windows tactically, moving early on targets or throwing people off the scent with red herrings, feel there is a reason we dont have any ITK’ers, its because they would compromise this tactic (rip Richard Cadette). We may have to do our business late, but it may result in better business

David...I thought that 3 times last season !

I think if there is one area the Prince may be persuaded to push the boat out its upfront. If we were to sign Dennis he could potentially help us to the next level and be worth a fortune. If we sign Cash for 15m we are unlikely to sell him for much more...if we signed Dennis for 20m he could be worth a hell of a lot.more in a couple of years time.

To be fair to Wilder, he's very systematic.

Promotion season, he added Egan, improved the defence, and kicked us on.

Last summer, added McBurnie and Mousset, improved the top of the pitch, and kicked us on. Both ended as joint top scorer.

This past January, invested in the midfield with Berge and going by pre-season comments has kicked us on.

This summer, signed Ramsdale improving upon our permanent choice of keeper options.

Maybe that is it? It might feel at best parity because we 'had' Henderson. But he's freed up a loan from a top club. Maybe he uses that to kick us on until he can improve the strike force of defence further to kick us on even more.

We have to be realistic. It's all about evolution in the Chris Wilder revolution. Frustrating as it may seem, looking at teams who had disappointing seasons, he probably feels in pretty reasonable shape.

He's out looking for the icing on the cake. Some of his contemporaries are still looking for the flour and the eggs!

yeah i do like this idea of systematic progression, he clearly believes in OMB (as i do too) and Mousset's ability to get firing again, and therefore we may not see another striker except for a loan (Brewster) coming in

personally the biggest concern for me is that we look fragile to an injury crisis, being realistic i think most Blades would be happy staying up, and the biggest threat to our survival is if one of the back 6 are out, i would fear it could really plunge us down the league...

I am sure Wilder is well aware of this which is why we have been linked with Cash and A.Robinson so heavily, i fully expect some backups to the back 6 in this TW, that for me is a minimum in this window. I would love Sessegnon (loan), Lenihan and a RWB (not sure who!) I think that would be an achievable window

the Lunny situation is not as urgent, i would imagine CW would have said he can leave once we have someone in place already and I would imagine John agreed to this (he basically has to as he is under contract), but we will be actively looking for his replacement now.

There’s always hope

CW implies we’ve had no bids for Lunny, now where have I heard that before? 🤔

Yep but which clubs boards should we be populating telling them there's been no bids as it doesn't seem like clubs are falling over themselves to sign him.

My guess is clubs know they can get him for free in 9 months time so will hang on to see if last season was a flash in the pan and if it wasn't they sign him for free on big wages.

Given we arent exactly overwhelmed with incoming I think we need to hold onto him or the squad will be even more threadbare

Not the end of the world if Lundstram walks for nothing at the end of the season.

We paid about 600k for him. So whilst it might be un-Sheffield United like to potentially turn down 6-8m, I wouldn't compromise the 130m on offer of staying in the PL.

No point removing a key squad member if we couldn't replace him with sufficient quality at an affordable price.

Lundstram's case does somewhat remind me of Duffy's - give me some more money and, by the way, other teams are interested (except they're not really!). Maybe the main difference is that Lundstram would still have residual value if he re-signed whereas Duffy wouldn't or that CW still sees a role for Lundstram whereas he possibly didn't for Duffy.

I was a little surprised when CW eluded last week that the contract offer is still on the table (~6 months after it was initially made). Perhaps he's playing the (very) long game on this one. TBH I can't imagine m/any Prem clubs thinking that he'd improve their midfield and he'd be worth a lot more than Utd are offering.

I would estimate that by not signing the contract offered, based on what he is likely on (8-10k per week) and what he was likely offered (16-18k per week) he has probably already cost himself £200,000-250,000 in lost earnings on his higher wage. It might be more than that. He and his agent must have been very confident of offers this window to have opted for that, rather than to simply sign the offer.

This guys got 12.6k followers and seems to be a Nigeria-specific Alan Nixon.

... I know its most likely bollocks and you do too. But we’ve got to dream!
Don't think we have to dream...hope more like it..I think hes been our number one target all summer. Fits perfectly with what we are trying to build and with our 'Belgian contacts' it means we may have had a bit of a head start.
