Tonights attendance??

So what do you reckon the attendance will be tonight? Take into account its not gone cold yet, we have a special offer on with Pompy game, 2 wins in a row, scunny have no manager so should be a banker, we are playing better football.

I'll go for 18-20k
 



Depends on the freebies. Anything over 18,000 would be good given the collapse in season ticket sales.

I came on this forum because I thought it was the one which was the valid alternative to bladesunited. I came on this forum on Monday and there is hardly anything about how things have improved quickly under Speed, just more of the same shit. posts about Naughton and Walker who are history and players we don't need; are we worse off financially than Hull or Portsmouth? No, some more self indulgent shite from Ollie about how he is going to save his claps.

I have got my dream that Blackwell has gone and I just thought everyone would get behind Speed which some have. Other's have just gone on to shoot everything else down like McCabe and finances etc; Where the fuck have you guys been leaving the last years? Some of us lost our jobs, found jobs alot less money than we are on before and just want to enjoy my football. People need to get perspective.

This forum has gone to the dogs.. I have never been so excited about going tonight yet coming on here I want to kill half of you
 
Either side of 20,000 I reckon (give or take 500)

I phoned the ticket office this morning to upgrade a junior ST and I was 8th in the queue so it gives the impression that a few people are creeping back in to have a look. I think 20,000 on a tuesday night against unfancied opposition would be quite good. Anything more than that would be excellent.

A win tonight and we might get an even bigger crowd saturday. If the team can go on a decent little run now they might start tempting a few back but we'll see.

In fairness to len, he was no different on BU in 2005/06 when we "fell over the line" (by 9 points). They were indeed dark days for him.

Spot on about Ollie though, thoughtfully sparing us no detail of his match day breakfast and drinking arrangements.

Ollie's not fit to lace len's boots.

I didn't go to the match at Derby and can only go on what I saw against Preston which was dreadful.
I accept we must have improved judging by the stats but Derby also appear to be a pretty shyte team who played pretty shyte on the day.
It's going to take sustained improvement/smarter marketing and ticketing arrangements to make any significant difference to the crowds.
 



I'll answer the original question rather than joining in the boring argumentative shite that seems to engulf every thread these days:

Attendance: 18,756 I reckon. Main reasoning being, it's a night match when we tend to get less and it's only Scunny.

I'll be there as ever but for a change I'm actually looking forward to it.

More importantly, apart from to Mr McCabe's bank balance where figures are everything, what do people think the atmosphere will be like? It's usually better when we aren't getting crowds of 22k plus because it's all the "proper fans" for want of a better phrase.

So far, we've had you telling us this season that Boro would be the most toothless attack we'd face, then Preston were shocking and now Derby are rubbish and you haven't even seen them. We can tick them off one by one and win or lose makes no difference!

If we win, by definition, the opposition are rubbish. If we lose, the opposition are rubbish, but we're even worse. Great stuff!

Hear Hear, Went on Saturday and in three short weeks Speedo has made a massive difference in style and confidence. I feel exactly the same, listened to a complete nuggett on Football Heaven slagging off McCabe when if he just opened his eyes he might see that we finally have a bright young manager who knows how to play football the right way.

Really excited about tonight and the future which bearing in mind the reality of football finances could be quite good. Blades on the way up me thinks!!

How have Boro, Preston and Derby started this season?

Preston was far from dreadful, it wasn't great but it was much improved on the QPR game and the majority of last season.

Lets just enjoy the fact that the team on the field are trying to make progress and move forward in a better direction with Gary Speed, lets hope that progress is bringing a few fans back to the Lane and lets hope they get behind the team and lets enjoy going back to BDTBL.

Around the 20,000 for a tuesday night match will be a decent attendance in my eyes preferably over 20,000.

Frankly, any debate about the possible attendance tonight can only become a pissing contest. The only numbers that count are the goals for and goals against.

There will be a couple of the former, and none of the latter. Blades to win and set us up for another 3 points on Saturday...

TBH I couldn't give a fig about the attendance numbers so long as i'm there and we win there could be 12 people there.
