They appear to be good mates. He's signed for Norwich now I think. GLTTL. He looked good in flashes for us, but just seemed a bit too lightweight in some games. Maybe a season or two of regular first team football will be just what he needs.

Note the alleyway between Sugg's and Barney Goodmans. If I remember correctly, I think that was Pinstone Arcade - long since gone. But Sweeny's barbers had a shop in there, possibly their first shop in Sheffield? It used to be the place to go for a trendy haircut. Anyone remember that or can confirm?

I can confirm. Sweeneys was my choice of hairdresser when I had a mullet. Now I just polish it!

I remember going to that Sweeny's. There were two blokes that cut hair. A guy with long brown hair (I think he may have had a Mexican tash, a la "Jason King" - "Department S") and a more Viking looking blonde haired guy with a beard. You got whichever one was free when it was your turn. Both were good at giving you the hairstyle of the moment, which in the early 70's, was "the straggle". What I would give for "a straggle" now. It would be nice even to just have my fringe back!

I understand he's a fun loving young man but he seems like he'd sit in a McDonald's carpark on a Saturday night revving his engine more than play the family man. Again, it has absolutely nothing to do with his game or his professionalism but he's a new dad, in a lockdown, that hangs around more with his mates than I did as a 15year old chav.

Come back lean, mean and scoring goal and judgey dickheads like me go away, but whilst your getting special treatment (and he is) and still not performing (as yet) then questionable antics are going to get moaned about.

They then expanded and had several shops all called Sweenys but with numbers so Sweenys 1, 2 etc. Think they had 4. One was on Ecclesall Road opposite the original Champs. The two partners then split and Graham had the Ecclesall Road Shop and Glen had one or more of the others but soon after I think most of the others closed. I think Sweenys on Eccy Road still going?

I'm absolutely staggered by some of the posts in this thread!!!! It is vital for us that Moose stays with us this season, and returns to the sort of form he was showing in October and November last season. Potentially he is our best player, and the one that opponents fear more than any other, yet all we read on here is so-called Blades fans slagging him off with ridiculous assumptions about his private life and personality, when the posters themselves cannot possibly know anything about the lad outside of what they have seen on the football pitch. How about a little support for him? Surely his return to form would be far more likely to happen if he felt that we were all behind him?

When Moose opened our Meadowhall store and gave his MOTM award to a young fan I thought he was the best thing since sliced bread.

Maybe I'm looking at it as an employer more than a fan but I don't want a Pogba type in our squad.

McBurnie is even worse on IG but the guy is an eccentric fruitloop that gives 100% commitment, I cant say a bad word about him and his Gucci outfits

It’s not about that to be honest, it’s about defending people where they seem disproportionately criticised – which seems to be happening here. And what you seem to be assuming is that because you can’t see Mousset for example posting about his kid that he’s out with his mates all the time, rather than just posting what he feels like (or feels comfortable) sharing. I don’t know how you use social media, and I’m not going to make any assumptions on that, but based on my own friends on insta for example it’s a minority that will post content about their kids on there – and usually if they do it’s not public, but limited to close friends. You’ll get exceptions to that of course (Sharp being one).

I just don’t really get the need to over-analyse a player’s personal social media to try and apply that to views on their role as a player. I’ve been critical of plenty of players this season – using their social media as a club to bash their personality with isn’t something I think is in any way necessary.
