Personally I’m not sure this Ramsdale transfer is going to happen , yes we’ve agreed a fee with Bournemouth but it’s not done yet I think we’ll say to Manchester United if you don’t agree to let us having Dean Henderson at ~60 % wage contribution for next season we will buy Ramsdale . Henderson wants to play he will demand a transfer , which will bring Tottenham and a Chelsea into the frame , Manchester definitely don’t want to sell to either of them to clubs, so in my opinion this is a negotiating tactic and back up
That all makes sense, just not sure it’s a negotiating tactic.

It might make Man U think again though. They probably thought they had us over a barrel and we’d have no choice but to pay all his wages.

It’s probably been a bit of a shock to them that we’ve had a bid accepted for Ramsdale. That puts them in a bit of a predicament. What are they going to do now?

Not so easy to keep Henderson happy when they can’t farm him off to the perfect club for him. Not a direct rival but one in the Premier League. One which has developed him for them and would have continued to develop him. One who he’s happy to play for.

Man U may have gambled and lost on this. They might have to rethink their strategy.

We need to start getting real when it comes to fees paid and that we will have to continue to pay if we want to survive and thrive in the Premier League.

Bournemouth havent ‘had our pants down’ by charging 18.5mil for Ramsdale. He’s 22, with a season of PL experience and a POTY trophy to his name. He is a maturing investment not just a player who we are going to bring in for a year or 2. Another season of PL experience and he’s worth £30mil. An extremely impressive season and England call up? Probably £50mil.

This is the latest in a long line of ‘arrrr much’ Yorkshire war cries from our fans since promotion. Lys Mousset was the first, followed by Oli McBurnie, and even some said the same for Sander Berge. We really need to get real and fast.

We could go abroad and try and pick a player up for a snip of the price, yes. But for every Calgar Soyuncu and Ruben Neves you’ve got an Adrien Silva and a Sebastian Haller. Just because they’ve done well in a foreign league does not mean they’ll do well here.

Personally I won’t lie, I wanted Cakir. But at £22mil he loses the ‘better value for money’ selling point. It comes down to who has the better experience, and not many come from the Turkish league directly to the Prem and do brilliantly because the standard is of the Championship at best.

Ramsdale is a safe pair of hands, a number 1 for potentially 10 years, and has a very realistic chance of rivalling Henderson for the England number 1 shirt by the end of the season. He’s going to be behind a much much better defence then he was at Bournemouth, and dare I say it if Henderson was there instead of at the Lane this season he would’ve had the exact same problems.

Get behind him and support him. And start getting real when it comes to fees in this division.

ARRRR FUCKIN MUCH?!?!
Having your pants down is paying £41 million for Nathan Ake.

Yes they have. I think Hendo might be left in no mans land now. Which is a shame but we need OUR keeper.

Just to put some sand in the vaseline. Jack Butland, 27, full england capped, 5 seasons in the PL and 5 in the championship. Currently being offered around clubs at between £8m to £10m.
He is not a better option than Ramsdale though is he? And that’s coming from the person who suggested him on the rumour mill

Poor old Butland has had a crisis of confidence to make Joe Hart weep. There’s no telling whether he can recover.

So my Vaseline remains silky smooth. 😙

Maybe the reason Man U are pricing us out is that they DO see us as a rival after all we were within touching distance of them until the last few games of the season.

I don’t give a fuck about what we’ve paid or what we might have had, I go on what I see and who I trust. We need a keeper. I see Rammers as a big unit who will come out and take everything out like Schmeichel (P).

Deano made some unbelievable saves, but he’s not great on crosses, let a few in low at the near post, and last year had a bad habit of knocking saves forward into the danger zone rather than sideways out of danger.

Deano was great, but we can’t afford him - Rammers is the England U21 keeper and we can afford him. Anything comparable that we can afford will be either ageing or relatively unknown.

Darren Ward is a fantastic keeper coach and will have signed off on this. I really trust Darren Ward.

Welcome to the magic journey Rammers.

Shield is saying that 18.5 mill was the full price. He then states the the sell on clause, and some of the Brooks sale cash still owed, will reduce that fee further. Why would Bournemouth , "reluctantly", sell, if that's correct, after all , 41mill from Man City surely means they are not under pressure to sell???? Once Wilder made the offer, did Ramsdale threaten to put in a transfer request???? Seems very strange to me!!!!
Have a look at their wage bill against income.

And a reputation in tatters. Why not mention Joe Hart in the same breath?
When he was in form and in demand, figures around £30M were being mentioned in regards to Premier League suitors.
