Understand he’s in Spain so 14 days before a medical could be undertaken.Went away on end of season jolly wi lads didn’t he?
We need a couple of these deals to start landing soon, there's less than 6 weeks until the start of the season. I know Wilder knows what he's doing, and ordinarily he would walk away if he feels like our pants are being pulled down, but we have a smaller squad of players now, and time is of the essence. He may just have to concede and pay them closer to what they're asking for.
Uncle Kev wasn't telling us porkies was he?!Come on Reading you wankers. Fkin play ball
When the Prem clubs come calling........................bla bla bla. Well that's what Kev used to tell us
Need to make it happen. All signings need to be with us at the start of training and pre season not like Berge coming in to late and needing gradual introduction.Im sure Bettis will know exactly what the price is to get this lad, and the breaking £4m bid has probably been made a while back.
Can't help but think that Reading are trying to get the price up by trying to get other clubs interested, whilst the agent will also probably be playing silly buggers.
Might have to play a game of brinkmanship and tell the Reading board the final offer is x and you have a deadline of y. After that, the offer no longer stands and we have moved on. See if Reading suddenly accept our offer. The player will also probably be very keen to move to SUFC has he will think he has a good chance of first team football for a PL side. I'm sure he won't be very happy if Reading or his agent are starting to jeopardise a potential move to a PL club.
Still think this will happen, but it is starting to get to the 'shit or get off the pot' stage for this transfer. We don't have the time to fuk around as we need new incoming players to be semi settled and integrated with the squad.
PANIC! When do I stop?We need a couple of these deals to start landing soon, there's less than 6 weeks until the start of the season. " When the big clubs come calling.... "I know we dont want to "overpay' but if this lad is premiership quality we shouldn't be surprised Reading want more than 4m for him, should we ?

"But the truth is until you are back in the Premier League, if a Premier League club comes along and wants one of your players... if someone can give me the answer of how you keep them. I think most supporters realise that our desire is not to sell a David Brooks - obviously a youngster with immense talent - or a Dominic Calvert-Lewin. But when the big dog comes knocking...”
Yep, things would have been so much better had we kept Brooks and Calvert-Lewin instead of doing what we did with the money got from selling them"But the truth is until you are back in the Premier League, if a Premier League club comes along and wants one of your players... if someone can give me the answer of how you keep them. They might be the next in the down a dozen clubthere's no way Reading are going up next season.
I’m getting sick and tired of all these lower league teams that seem to repeatedly keep turning down fairly low bids for their key players. This isn’t how these things work. Acceptable behaviour would be:
- Accept the bid immediately
- Try and hold out for more money, but then actually accept the original bid
- Negotiate loaning a young player in return, level of ability unimportant
- Negotiate potentially loaning youngsters in the future, which can be marketed to fans as “first choice for loaning up and coming players” without actually ending up with anyone on loan
- Negotiate a money-spinning friendly at your home ground
