I don't regularly post on here as Linzy will testify but I think the statement from the club is trying to put people off the scent.
Just before Brown was "sacked" from Hull one his backroom staff was talking out of school to one of the fringe staff at Hull City. The Backroom guy was talking on the phone to Brown overheard by the fringe staff member who was in the car with him. I personally know the fringe staff member and his father (which is why I'm being very carefull with names). Brown told his backroom guy that he was to Join Sheff Utd in the near future.
My mate who now and again deals with Sheff Utd on a business level had a meeting with one of the Blades Mafia Daykin - Pack - Rooker (all three of them nice guys but they are a clique). The one at the meeting told my mate that Trevor Birch had been brought in to secure a takeover.
Taking this the Malta involvement into account and the fact that the Maltese business man was there today and the rather hysterical statement on P&G by the guy who wouldn't state the Maltese guys name would seem to point to what the guy was saying.
Why would Brown's name be mentioned?
Why have Malta picked us as a tourist destination sponsor?
Trevor Birch has a track record as a transition manager, why appoint him?
Blackwell had twice before been the fall guy for clubs reducing their financial status!
I think it will become clear over the week.

Brown was 'sacked' ages ago???

I'll repeat. The club have confirmed through our source that they're in talks with a MALAYSIAN who may come on to the board at some point in the future. It isn't a buy-out but a sponsorship deal.

Here's a map to show the difference between Malta and Malaysia: LINK :D

This is like a Dan Brown novel. Next chapter please

Princees Diana - she should keep her nose out of our countries affairs and is no ambassador for us yadda yadda yadda

sept 1st 97 - she's the people's princess who should be a beacon to all of us

Here is another way to tell them apart. So far as I'm aware, Malaysia doesn't have a chocolate confection named after it.

There is lots of stuff knocking around, I would suggest waiting for the dust to settle before reading too much into all the speculation.

We know McCabe is looking at multiple investors (not selling) so [1] a minority investor wouldn't have a say on sacking the coach unless it was already a possibility.

I would raise the point again that unless someone can correct me I have never heard of a club stopping a managerial approach offered to one of their coaches. Speed isn't even our assistant manager and [2] we blocked 3 approaches, why have we done this if we don't intend for him to be part of the longer term structure of the club at some level or another.

[1] Anyone with an of common sense would have sacked him.
[2] What if Blackie was your long term choice? You expected a change of style of play from the meetings held with your manager and said manager wanted Speed to stay??

A statement from someone close to the club:
Thanks for the info Foxy interesting times ahead .
That is a very swift response with only two games into the season,it looks like it was planned to me.
McCabe needs to get the appointment right this time I would like a manager in that knows this division not a trainee.

Speed??

1] If he had no influence over team selection and tactics and put up with the last 18 months of shit then he is not management material.
2] If has had influence over the team then he is not management material.

With ether scenario he is not management material.

Speed??

1] If he had no influence over team selection and tactics and put up with the last 18 months of shit then he is not management material.

If he had forced his influence in the last 18 months he would have been perceived to be undermining the manager and would have been removed from his role

2] If has had influence over the team then he is not management material.

If only football really was that black and white

With ether scenario he is not management material.

Oh to be enlightened..........

yeah but blackwell was responsible for all the good football in 2003 under warnock, i remember saying it repeatedly at the time;)

He came to us when he was past it and took a contract when he couldn't perform as a player.

Coppell and O'Neill walked recently, why didn't Speed walk if the tactics were against his beliefs? If he did belief the tactics were right then GOD HELP US!!!!

Sorry Axel I'm not understanding your point.

I share your reservations grumps. We paid the man man shit loads with the "coach" bit added on the contract when basically he didn't have the legs to play for the term of the contract we offered him.

Brown as an option scares me.

Dowie is out of work and that scares me twice as much.

Speed has got the job in my eyes but I don't see why people think he will be some sort of saviour. .. I hope he is but he is very wet behind the ears to manage the mighty blades.

Why ?...two promotions and kept Hull in the top division.

Look at what happened at Hull - what they're trying to deal with now - and Brown should be treated with massive scepticism.

surely what happened at Hull was down to the Board being over spending rather than sticking to the principles that got them there in the first place. Take away Brown's personality, why should he be treated with sceptisism ? He has proved he can get a club promoted to the top flight and keep them there(which Mr Warnock couldn't manage)

Probably my hangover talking but I can't think of the other promotion, I can only think of him taking Hull up in the play offs.

I always fear that our board have the ability to do something stupid like appoint Dowie, Megson or Roeder so with that in mind I'd probably settle with Brown but would love O'Driscoll.

I'm surprised that Jewell's name hasn't been mentioned either.

If people thought Blackwells football was bad, I hope they missed out on watching Hull the season they went up.

thought he got them promoted from the 1st to the championship as well ? Might well be wrong on that one but too early in the morning to check !

Brown was very much involved in the massive mismanagement of Hull - to think he didn't know what was going on would be very naive.

I can understand why Jewell is being vilified given his Wednesday and Wigan links, however, I think he'd be a good choice tbh. He's got passion and has shown he can manage at the top. I wouldn't be wholly unhappy if he was approached
