The whole Holding thing is quite crazy - without playing he's gathered a status without any proof. The cameos he had , he was OK but certainly no 'Souttar'.

Robinson isn't total shit- he's just bang average- If Wilder and Knilly thought Holding was 'the answer' they would have played him. They see them training every day -

simple as - Holding wasn't ready to taker over Robinson - he was only back up if Anel or Robbo got injured.

Saying all that priority number 1 is replacing Robbo - so that he can be what he is meant to be - BACK UP.
Wilder won't let his favorites go even when they don't produce we have kept one for 5 years money down the drsin

Shudders at the memory of these two in midfield together, unbelievable.

Ahhh who could forget Micky Adams coming in and replacing Leon Britton, Kyle Bartley and Jamie Ward with Michael Doyle, Neil Collins and an absolutely finished version of Marcus Bent.

No surprise to see him take Tranmere out of the football league for the first time not long after that.

A midfield pair of Michael Doyle and Nick Montgomery, even for this club that was rough

We conceded one goal in the four games he played and both anel and Robinson looked levels above when they played alongside each other

Any competent centre half would have been an improvement on that pairing

Exactly this. Everyone hating on Robbo but it wasn't just him. It was him and Anel as a pair that were just plain wrong. Robbo looked far better next to Holding as did Anel.

I honestly think those 2 just need a solid leader next to them.

Really ?

I'm not Robinsons biggest fan and I would certainly be looking for someone better but.
Wilder wasn't even here when he signed his new contract in July 23 with the one year option.
Do we know how many games triggers the extension ? because he had featured in 18 games before Holding walked through the door.
At the point Holding came in he hadn't played a competitive game since Sept 23 so he was hardly going to start.

I get that people are frustrated we are keeping Robbo but to blame it on Wilder or worse corruption is a lot of a stretch.

Ask yourself these questions :

Once Souttar was injured it was clear that we needed a similar quality replacement and asap.

WHY then , was it not the TOP priority throughout the window ?

WHY did CW fanny about until the last day of the window , thereby leaving our defence under-strength the whole month.

We had the chance to sign the lad from QPR who was on an upward trajectory in his career.
And we reportedly sacrificed the desk for the sake of £1m ... WHY ?

We clearly weren't short of money , looking at the fee for the Cannon that won't fire.

WHY , when we finally recruited a CB , did Wilder choose a CB who hadn't played for 18mths , in the full knowledge that he'd need a month to get match-fit ?
Thereby doubling from one month to two months , the length of time when we had to play Robbo !

WHY , when Holding finally played and looked calm & competent , did Wilder then prefer to play an admittedly inferior (backup) player in Robbo , as opposed to an ex-Arsenal , top quality Holding ?

WHY did Wilder bother to recruit him and pay his presumably high PL wages whilst waiting for him to get match-fit
AND THEN choose not to play him ?

Once you have given those questions very serious consideration , you will not find the stretch too far-fetched.

Ps
Did you notice on X that a poll of over 2,000 Blades put Jack Robinson
RANK BOTTOM
of a 22-man list of which current staff they'd like to see at the Lane next season ?

Wilder finished just above him , at 6th from bottom.

Holding , who's barely been selected , finished above Wilder.

If the owners can't pick up such a clear message and act accordingly , they are not the competent businessmen they first appeared to be.

And of course , Wilder now has Bettis going in to bat for him on the board.

This Robinson issue , plus £10m for a Cannon that won't fire , following exactly the 'JoC replaced by Brewster' clanger which relegated us in 20/21 , ought to be sounding loud alarms in the owners earholes.
