A statement from someone close to the club:

There are a lot of rumours floating around right now.

The only thing that is true as of tonight is that the club is discussing a "sponsorship" arrangement with a Malaysian businessman who may or may not come on to the board at some point in the future.

All other rumours about boardroom changes are spurious.

Will more likely than not hear more later tonight, will tell more as soon as I can :)

There is lots of stuff knocking around, I would suggest waiting for the dust to settle before reading too much into all the speculation.

We know McCabe is looking at multiple investors (not selling) so a minority investor wouldn't have a say on sacking the coach unless it was already a possibility.

I would raise the point again that unless someone can correct me I have never heard of a club stopping a managerial approach offered to one of their coaches. Speed isn't even our assistant manager and we blocked 3 approaches, why have we done this if we don't intend for him to be part of the longer term structure of the club at some level or another.

Do I detect a bit of hostility LS26?

We were until he failed multiple medicals. Did I actually post "online" that it was 100% nailed on, I can't remember. I think I did say the deal was done, and it was it failed on the medical but all the figures were agreed.

Anyway my post on here didn't suggest any ITK? I've always said I'm not ITK I just get told the odd thing from time to time.

Speed is absolutely nailed on to walk into the job

But there is absolutely no evidence that'll he'll be a good manager. What happens if he does get the job and the team still play like they did today? Whatever Blackwell's faults it's 100% certain he didn't tell them to play like they did.

Ok...but there's no evidence to say he'll be a poor manager, and what happens if he does get the job, and the team play like they can?

I'm sure he didn't tell them to play like that but as I said before, if he can't get them to play like he wanted then that's weak management - plain and simple. I liked Blackwell but his lack of guile and single mindedness has whats really undermined him here.

And no, there's definitely no evidence Speedo will be a success but you could say that about a lot of managers.THey've all got to start somewhere and he's a cheap and available option to the board.

Far too sensible post!

I'm sure he told them all not to make any movement today to take the ball. And I'm sure he told them to throw every throw-in to their players!

Our players get paid good money, and whatever we say about Blackwell, they too let us down today!

Were the players that he signed not playing for him??? Why did Blackwell sign said players if they weren't going to play for him? Or are they just crap signings??

You work for the club, yourself and pride! Not the manager!

If not don't take the wage!

I was talking to Angus Loughran (not the best name drop but anyway) on the train as he'd been to our game and he said there'd been a 'significant Malaysian presence' in the boadroom. The rumour about Blackwell started circulating before he knew anything although a few phone calls later he confirmed it.

Ive heard about the Malaysian connection a few weeks ago & wasnt that the reason KMC & TB didnt attend the Estudiates match?

They had flown out to Malaysia to speak to the investor.

I knew when i heard that guy on RS he actually meant MALAYSIAN.
