Why ?Would rather knock it down entirely and start from scratch but I don't know how far HRH is prepared to go regarding stadium redevelopments as it would be more expensive this way. But if so it would probably have to come out of the PL revenue as I don't think he can or will out of his own money.
This is all if HRH is still the owner by the time we do redevelop that is.
I understand the reservations what with the poor leg room and too gentle a slope, but this really is the best we're going to get. It must be a cost effective development and knocking down the whole kop to build a steeper structure on the same footprint won't increase capacity.
Get it built
Why ?
I meant nothing by it in particular.
Just saying that we don't know HRH's long term intentions etc. We don't really know if he wants to sell us on or not now that he's got sole control and the ownership of the assets have been resolved?
Err, I think there’s some catching up for you to doI think this has been debated before and, regardless, nothing is gonna happen until the Prince and McCabe sort out the assets, and what with corona, this may not be a quick solution sadly! I have no idea on the latter bit though, just guessing.
.
I'm 6' 1" and stand at the back of the Kop due to the legroom, and i struggle to see if there a goalmouth scramble at the kop end.Lets build the new red wall!![]()

Pretty sure that’ll be part of it. The chairman Mu’saud has said that a modest expansion of about 5000 and the removal of the pillars is in the short to medium term plans. Think the new training ground at norton (unless they’ve found somewhere else since) will be first though.Just realised! Great news!
"When I assumed sole ownership of the Club nine months ago, I committed myself to preserving the Club's heritage, upgrading the Club's physical assets and improving the fan experience. The Covid-19 pandemic has certainly brought unexpected challenges but we remain dedicated to our original strategy and bringing the stadium and other properties under the ownership of the Club is an important step in executing on this strategy. We now look forward to capitalising on this important step as we establish the Blades in the Premier League. We'll have more good news soon."
I wonder if the last bit in the statement where he says we'll have more good news soon maybe the Kop extension!?
This should be a priority. Facilities are desperately outdated and we should be looking to grow attendences with a sensible ticketing policy while ever we're in the premier league.
If they're going to just build on the back of the stand it should be a two tier structure (similar to villa's holte end). It would look a lot better and allow for proper sight lines from the top.
But I do think consideration should be given to a full stand replacement, with safe standing included.
I believe there would be planning issues if the stand was double tier due to the height that it would be?This should be a priority. Facilities are desperately outdated and we should be looking to grow attendences with a sensible ticketing policy while ever we're in the premier league.

It would also ruin the atmosphere. Double tiered kop stands are shite acoustically.I believe there would be planning issues if the stand was double tier due to the height that it would be?
And plan to fill the corner with seats/Corporate/TV rather than an office block with the South Stand improvement planned for next season should we stay up again.
With respect Tracey, the one thing we don't want is a two tired stand. Firstly, and mainly, because it no longer becomes a Kop if its double tiered, or if you are of the opinion that you'll still have a Kop, but with a further top tier, then to me that then detracts from the rest of the Kop, and also, we have a problem as it is with getting the whole Kop to sing as one, often with the same chant seconds behind each other, depending on what part of the Kop you're on, but with two tiers that would be even worse surely?
The TV studio is there now. Putting seats in there would actually reduce the capacity because the kop and south stand currently overlap. So to create a corner stand you’d have to lose a block off of both. And plan to fill the corner with seats/Corporate/TV rather than an office block with the South Stand improvement planned for next season should we stay up again.

Apart from building the fan base for long term stability regardless of the league we’re in?I'd rather we prioritised getting a squad, development squad, improving the academy and training facilities and establishing a global scouting system to be honest. No point having a fancy stadium in the Championship.
I said to do it when the South Stand is developed so you wouldn’t need to reduce the block. It can also go back over the walkway to the Kop and south stand. The TV studio is there now. Investment?Just realised! Great news!

Yes. Because there isn’t a huge financial advantage in having an extra £10k capacity. It’s only a small part of our income when we’re in the PL and we won’t fill it if we’re in the championship.Apart from building the fan base for long term stability regardless of the league we’re in?
