First of all, I won't be making these posts after every game, but maybe some now and then.

A Cardiff midfielder chips the ball in behind our back four and sends Chopra one on one with Simonsen. He goes round him, finds Bothroyd in the box who scores.

If we look at the first still photo our backline seems straight, though maybe too high up. In the second Morgan and Chopra appears, and although we don't see the situation when the ball is played, it looks likely that Morgan has dropped deeper than the rest of the backline, playing Chopra onside.

What we must agree on, and work more on in training is a) where do we want our backline to be, b) keeping the backline straight and c) concentration. A few moments later Chopra ran in behind us again.

First picture, Look at our Midfield 4, they have four Cardiff players behind them

let's hope blackie reads this board and sorts it out for Saturday. :)

I want the blades to win every game, but especially against QPR!

Should also comment on the 4 blades playes in the box and not 1 picked up Bothroyd. For me it should be Etrl as he's the closest player to him. Lack of communication between a fairly new back 4 and it cost us.

I was quite chuffed that 2 of our players were back on the goal line. We gave Bothroyd a bit to do, but unfortunately he did it, with a very good strike.

I am glad to ses that Simmo isn't coming in for too much criticism. I would rather have a keeper that sweeps behind the defence as it pushes them further upfield. I think Simmo was also expecting Chopra to miss control the ball giving him a chance to get a tackle in. Unfortunately Chopra took it down superbly and then he was always in control of the situation.

A bit of a rush of blood with the goal but Simmo made up for it with some great saves to avoid what could 've been total embarrassment. My Man of the Match.
I was disappointed with the 2 on the line who IMO could 've stopped the goal.
Still, considering everything it was an acceptable result.

Looking at the picture I have to agree. Two drop onto the line the other two need to be getting closer to the players coming into the box.

It does seem as though someone should've picked up Bothroyd but I can also understand a bit of panic when Simmo is way out of his goal - everyone more concerned with getting to the goal line than picking men up. I'd imagine not a lot of training time goes into this type of scenario.

To be fair to them, if he takes a touch then at least one is close enough to make a challenge, and he could well be closed down. It's just that he gets in a good first time effort that neatly bisects the two who had managed to get back on the line. Good finish rather than really bad defending for me.

PS. The bad defending arose with the through ball to Chopra!
