Went to nephew's birthday party there in early 1980s, where kids were supposed to play football and then go back to my brother's for tea. It was one of the really cold winters, and when we got there, there was a burst pipe, and water pouring out of the burst turned it into a swimming pool. Sister-in-law was delighted to have a dozen kids arrive at the house in need of entertainment for a couple of hours before tea. And then it snowed so heavily that several parents arrived very late to collect their kids. Happy days! I assume my brother got a refund...Another view of the beloved winter shed, this time from around 1991.
Running along the left hand side was the gallery and Vic's "office". The pitch inside was about 6 ft lower. It would be great to see some internal shots if anyone has any.View attachment 74607

Vaguely remember Tracey having a mare and giving a needless penalty away. First and last time I went on the train to a leeds game. Police escort to the ground that seemed about a 10 mile walk then bricked near a subway on way back to station. Bad day all round!Unfortunately, yes.
Blades 1 (Pace) Wendy 0 in February 1959. Kevin Lewis and Billy Russell the Blades players, Norman Curtis and Tony Kay the Wendy players. Wendy finished the season second division champions and us third. This was the last season when Wendy finished above us when both Sheffield clubs were in the 2nd tier.
Not in direct reply but prompted by the picture:Also from April 1983.

If I remember correctly, around this time there were provisional plans to dual carriageway Bramall Lane with, even now, the still the occasional gossip of Supertram extensions. I believe that's one reason why there are ribbons of undeveloped/spare land on that side so far. These two legends remain pretty much unchanged though. It's also a good reason why I took these photos.
You say unfortunately, but it was probably the only reason we got out of the "family" stand alive. I've been in some hostile environments, but that day was one of the worst.Unfortunately, yes.
You should have been in the Lowfield stand, now that was a bit tasty. You say unfortunately, but it was probably the only reason we got out of the "family" stand alive. I've been in some hostile environments, but that day was one of the worst.
Norwich's equaliser in the 1959 FA Cup 6th round match
January 1966. Bramall Lane End being demolished
Wonder who was on that list.Never even tried to get me another club....
Hard to give that a 'like'. We were 1-0 up, their keeper had dislocated his shoulder, Norwich were in the 3rd Division, and we were on our way to the first semi-final in my lifetime. And then...
Pleased to say I share one of Hodgy’s qualities- failure to keep programme collection tidy!
