Quite possibly the worst midfielder I've ever seen for United. Everything about this guy was wrong. I've seen darts players with a smaller turning circle and move quicker.
 
Got to feel a bit of sympathy for Hammond. You sit out of the game for 4 years before finally being convinced to play for another club, and then two days later the league you’ve signed to play in halts its season...

Sympathy for that twat who was prepared to sit in our reserves just to pick up wages. Fuck him!

Plenty seemed perfectly calm about that being basically what Clarke (for this season), Holmes (the last 2 seasons) and Evans (till we sold him) did. If we’re going to apply a “can’t blame the player for wanting the money from a contract he signed with the club” as many folk made in their cases, you can’t really deny the same for Hammond.

Correct, but you know that some of our number need someone to hate.

But how would any fucker know if Hammond had stopped?

...and then the league expunges all the results, meaning your new club 7 points clear at the top doesn’t get promoted.

Fair enough with Holmes but Clarke did plenty for us and Evans was a stopgap between Coutts and Norwood who just wasn’t good enough for a team challenging for promotion and we doubled our money on him. I think the issue with Hammond is that had Adkins not played him and thus not triggered the contract extension, we’d have been no worse on the pitch and not had to pay a sizeable sum to get rid of him. At least with Holmes Wilder just didn’t play him meaning no appearance money or contract extensions.
It seems very trivial now though.

I‘ll excuse forgetting the player I was talking about. It was certainly a forgettable second spell with us. Though allegedly prevented a lawsuit...
