They are talking about it now on Talksport.
They are saying playing in an empty stadium will cause problems because people will watch the matches in pubs.
They are suggesting the season is temporarily suspended and if the virus continues for many weeks....then end the season and maybe play a mini play-off league regards which teams are relegated and qualify for the Champions/ Europa league.
Its a tricky situation.....regards getting the balance right between carrying on to a certain degree and having military style lock downs.
So far everyone who has died in the UK have been elderly with previous health issues.
How do you protect the vulnerable? Ban over 70’s from leaving the house? Make sure all visitors to the elderly wear face masks and use hand gels?
Apparently Gary Neville has suggesting we freeze the season and continue once it’s under control, which hopefully might only be 2 or 3 weeks
but what if it takes months? PS I go on holiday to Mexico via Paris in 11 days....I’m wondering if my flight will go ahead?
10 PRINT “PHIL IS ACE”I wrote my first computer code in 1975.
6507 People in Britain killed themselves in 2018, that's nearly 18 a day.
The "Corona Virus" has so far killed 2 people in Britain.
I wish people would take stock of what they are panicking about.
yes because all pubs follow the rulesAs said on R4, the govt can tell the broadcasters to withdraw rights to show matches from pubs to counter this problem.
againIt’s killed 168 people in Italy today. I wish people would take stock of the severity of what is happening.
again
theres been 10000 cases in italy 650 have died
theres been 7500 in korea 65 have died
Italy has a massively larger over 70 age group
its an ideal area for this virus
old vulnerable people in a country with private health
again added the life expectancy numbers after first postingI don't think that private health care has much influence on the mortality rates in Italy. Italy has a much higher number of Critical Care beds than we do in the UK and generally if people with Covid-19 are sick they need ventilation. They are struggling to cope with the number of patients who need ventilation.
again added the life expectancy numbers after first posting
korea is 71 italy 85
so italy has the groups that are succumbing to it
the average age of those who have died is 81
all those off the dolmio add where the 80 year olds are enjoying being 80 plus are the ones getting the virus
I said a very similar thing last week. I don’t write code but I’ve been using computers since before the internetI wrote my first computer code in 1975. And bought my first hand held computer in 1986. This digital age. Me & my muckers invented it. We're good thanks......
yes we are 5 years life expectancy below italy and it will show in the deaths as we dont have as many in that really vulnerable 80 to 85 group which is 3 per cent higher death rate than 70 to 80Uk life expectancy is 80 so.....
It's a little known fact that Apollo XI landed on the Moon in 1969 - with absolutely no calculations being done beforehand. They just pointed it towards the Moon, counted to 10 and whoooosh. They'd have liked to have calculated trajectory & speed - but I don't think you have the facilities to do that Big ManI said a very similar thing last week. I don’t write code but I’ve been using computers since before the internet
If anyone wants to optimise their immune response to viral infection they should research the fat soluble vitamins
A (clinically proven to reduce morbidity and mortality in viral infections)
and Vitamin D(D3 the sunshine vitamin).
Loads of peer reviewed studies are at your fingertips.
and If I’ve done it right this is a link below to just one of a thousand proper studies if I hav’nt done it right it could be a porn site.
Role of Fat-Soluble Vitamins A and D in the Pathogenesis of Influenza: A New Perspective
Reduced exposure to solar radiation, leading to a deficiency of vitamin D and hence impaired innate immunity, has been suggested as a trigger for influenza viral replication and as an explanation of seasonal influenza. Although this hypothesis accounts for many unexplained facts about the...doi.org
This, if the mortality rate in Italy is now 5-6% basic maths applied to a significant percentage of the population getting infected in the UK would result in a mortality rate unseen since the war. I’m no snowflake but science and probability would suggest that we take this very seriously. I heard a local couple who were married in Milan at the weekend returned to work on Monday - fucking irresponsible and should be subject to legal constraint. I know that people need salaries etc but it is the job of government to deal with that as they are in Italy. There’s literally zero correlation mate ?
So shall we only take a deadly virus seriously when it kills a certain amount of people ?
How many would you suggest 5 thousand ? 10 thousand ?
My mistake just picked it random, plenty of others if you can be bothered to look though
Anthony R Mawson appears to have form.
Try this one.

Not all do, granted, but enough will to mitigate the circumstances.yes because all pubs follow the rules
If needed postpone games until safer and delay season finish.
Do same abroad and cancel Euros and play next summer.
New season could start a little later with some mid week league games replacing a scrapped league cup. This allows next season to finish on time.
Job done.
I think the idea is that people don’t be stupid and selfish cunts, and self isolate rather than prioritise watching a football game.

Of course there's a possibility that pubs, bars, restaurants may have to close. We're trying to fend off a Pandemic. Although, I'm an old fella & I'll be honest, I couldn't work out whether you were being serious in that post. When has anyone suggest pubs are closed? Surely it’s not being selfish if the government don’t put the country on lock down?
What point are you trying to make? Rather than suggest ‘if anyone wants to optimise their immune response to viral infection they should research the fat soluble vitamins’ why not summarise what you think people should be doing?Try this one.

Vitamin A and immunity to viral, bacterial and protozoan infections - PubMed
Studies in animal models and cell lines show that vitamin A and related retinoids play a major role in immunity, including expression of mucins and keratins, lymphopoiesis, apoptosis, cytokine expression, production of antibody, and the function of neutrophils, natural killer cells, monocytes or...pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

“if sports events do have to take place behind closed doors it shouldn’t be seen as a major issue and it wouldn’t be for ever, just the next 6 or 9 months or so”
They just don’t get it, that would be catastrophic,
