Always been known as the 'South Stand' AFAIA, in fact even back in 75/76, I can't recall it ever been the 'New Stand'.

I know it all seems the same oop North and can be quite confusing to the Metropolitan Elite.

No. I’m not. I’ve heard loads of Blades call it the new stand, from 1982 onwards. I imagine they called it that before then too but I didn’t go to the matches before then. Very few people sat in it apart from ‘big’ games like Rotherham or Donny during Christmas. From my viewpoint at the back of the kop, it looked like a few flat cappers with flasks.

I guess it depends when you started coming down - I still call it the Laver Stand, even when on the phone to (a sometimes confused) ticket office

I’m not sure I’ve started coming down yet. Not since around 1987.

I've always called it the South Stand, though I'm not as old as some of you buggers. I was going regularly from the early eighties though.

I'm not clever wise nor handsome (but used to be) but I agree with ' I should coco' . I got a season ticket in the first year it opened (1975 or 6) having watched from all the other parts of the ground from 1947. I reckon it was officially named ,' South Stand', as I should coco says. However, as others say it was sometimes referred to as ' New South Stand ' or simply 'The New Stand' by some supporters. By the way- my seat number was Row O seat 91 or 92 (memory fading) until I came to live abroad in 1994 (still come back for occasional games). Does anybody on here have that seat now? It was directly next to the Directors' area but may have been consumed by the new extension for The Premier League. Love those last 3 words.
