Devonshire Cat, only ten minutes from the ground and big enough not to be tin of sardines like. Good choice of beers but service can be a little slow at busy times. Beer Engine, again a good choice of beers and closer to the ground but get in quite early if you want a seat. There are plenty of city centre pubs as well, just go up Howard Street opposite the station and keep going.
If you don’t take the piss which I’m sure you won’t you’ll find us a friendly lot, enjoy.

Paul Watson 'Watto' is head of your medical department now. He was a fantastic full back for us when we won back to back championships. Played over 200 times for Albion.

Wilder has just said that everyone in the squad is fit for Saturday. Paul Watson (amongst others) seems to be doing his job well.

What you've done this season is clearly amazing, great to see three Albion players succeeding. Norwood was always outstanding for us as was Paul Watson.

Group of 10 of us (no children) arrive into your fine city at just before midday, what pubs would you recommend?

Preferably a mixture of home and away, thinking proper pub with decent beer that isn't a massive chain.

Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season after Saturday, it's great seeing clubs outside the Sky love in do well.

White lion/Crown/Brothers arms/sheaf view around the chesterfield road area, no idiots around these pubs (well fighting kind of idiots anyway!) all real ale pubs or a good selection anyway and a friendly crowd. Half decent for parking and around 5-10 minute walk from the ground depending how much you’ve had to drink. Also curry houses open after the game if you find yourself hungry

I'd second this suggestion, Heeley Bottom is great for pre-match drinking and we've often got talking with away fans before and after games.

The Crown shows football and is a good pub with good beer, miss the red lion it's a dump, the white lion is a great old traditional pub with a good selection of beer and is a music hub, as is the brothers, the Brothers and the sheaf are in the back streets, if it's raining or cold, avoid the brothers cos it'd be packed and head straight to the sheaf, probably one of the best selection of beers in Sheffield.

I think it's worth starting off with one in the Sheffield Tap seeing as it's right next to the station. There's other good ale pubs on the walk from there towards the ground, as someone already said, Rutland, Triple Point and Lost Industry (all keg in there though mind - and you can only pay by card). The Beer Engine would be the next place along that route, it's behind Waitrose. And the Sheaf Island Wetherspoons is more or less next to Waitrose as well.

If you are willing to walk a bit further out, past the ground along Shoreham Street, there's a very good selection of beers at the Sheaf View pub, that's maybe another 15 mins walk from the ground.

If I was coming by train I'd probably choose, Sheffield Tap (because it's literally on platform 1 of the station), then head for the Triple Point (on Shoreham street, 5 mins walk to the ground) and possibly the Beer Engine (10 mins walk from the ground).

As for pubs, I would also recommend the Triple Point Brewery, only 5 mins walk to the ground once you've supped up.

As an away fan, I would recommend walking towards Division Street & Devonshire Street if you just want to enjoy a few relaxed drinks. There's a number of pubs and bars there all far enough out of town to get entry as an away football fan. Devonshire Cat (which has been mentioned) is in that vicinity as well. From there it's a nice 10 min stroll down to the ground.

If you want to sing football songs and get lairy (no issue with that myself) then as mentioned by others, the pubs up from the train station (Howard/Globe/Graduate) are your easiest and best bet.

Is Triple Point formerly the Sentinal? If so, I think they have a pop up stall selling cans of decent ale brewed on the premises - so no need to go to the bar. Buy 3 or 4 of those and you are sorted.

Not been in since they refused to serve us because my lad had a red jacket with the blades roundel. Had been in with colours on many times before and bouncer had no problem with us either. Lloyds or the old Sentinel now.

Been getting the train for years. If you like decent beer, Bramall Lane has the highest concentration of pubs nearby of any ground in the 92 apart from Blackpool.

On the street of the away end there’s The Cricketers which is strictly home fans only, and The Railway where you’ll be welcome and does excellent beer. London Road is the main drag on the away side of the ground and 5 mins from your turnstile. The Cremorne & Beer Engine (closer to town) are probably the pick for me. Albion also does decent beer.

Food wise there is a Mexican Streetfood kitchen quite near The Rutland (up the hill) which is good. There’s all sorts on London Road, cluster of Chinese places, Turkish, Chippy, a good Kurdish grillhouse place.

Spoilt for choice pal, it’s a top away day.

If you’re going up into the city which is around 8 mins walk from the station if you walk up the hill past the Howard, you can if you like experience a time travelling “sort of” drink in a pub called the brown bear, you won’t be allowed in with football shirts on, you wont be able to have your phone out, you also can’t sing or listen to music, you can talk - not too loudly though, nothing more nothing less, the beer is really cheap it’s like going back in time, welcome travellers ! (Don’t think kids can go in either)

There are two other pubs close by, and you’re then five minutes from the Benjamin huntsman (witherspoons), where away fans are always in and can come in with shirts on, as was said earlier, come for fun and you’ll have it, come for something else and....

Wouldn’t recommend for you.. or any away fan in a shirt...

Spoons - there are 3 wetherspoons within an easy walk

Ale pubs - Rutland, lost industry tap, triple point brewery, beer engine, champs all within easy walk 10 mins tops

Further away but still walkable in 20 mins- bath hotel, red deer, grapes

If your staying the night Kelham Island and Gibraltar Street are must visits for the best ale pubs in Sheffield. A good 30 min walk from the ground

Enjoy your visit and the beer. Sheffield is up there with the best for good beer pubs. I might be biased though.

There are tons of places on London Road to grab some food which runs parralel to bramall lane

As a few have already said, you have three Wetherspoons within fairly easy reach (The Sheaf Island being nearest the ground and is, or was, the biggest they have in the UK), all the other pubs mentioned are great, but some are on the small side (Beer Engine being one) and while the beer is great, the waiting around to be served can take a while when it gets busy.

Sheffield Tap at the station, plenty of choice, the Howard and the Globe (both opposite the station, with the Howard being closest and the Globe being up the hill, past it), lesser choice but both designated away pubs. If you walk past the Globe and across the road, you are virtually at the world famous Crucible, the home of Snooker, and the Head of Steam is next door, more or less, big place, sells food, loads of beers on.

Anyway, you won't go far wrong, finding good beer in Sheffield.
