Hi all,

Brighton fan in peace, very much looking forward to the game Saturday. Our first visit to Bramall Lane in a number of years (my first)

What you've done this season is clearly amazing, great to see three Albion players succeeding. Norwood was always outstanding for us as was Paul Watson.

Group of 10 of us (no children) arrive into your fine city at just before midday, what pubs would you recommend?

Preferably a mixture of home and away, thinking proper pub with decent beer that isn't a massive chain.

Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season after Saturday, it's great seeing clubs outside the Sky love in do well.
 



With regards pubs, I'd recommend some places close to the station - Rutland Arms, Triple Point Brewery and Lost Industry Tap - also somewhere like the Devonshire Cat which is a bit more of a walk, but lots of other places nearby that are good for beer and it is not too much of a walk to the ground.

P.S. who is Paul Watson?

If you're getting the train up, walk out of the station and turn right, straight into the Sheffield Tap as a starting point.

That really is how Know's chooses to dress, he never recovered from seeing 'Lawrence Of Arabia'.....but to any Brighton supporters, acted like grown-ups and you'll be treated as such. We're a decent bunch who love nothing more than engaging in the type of harmless and amusing banter that makes going to a match worthwhile.

Sheffield Tap on the station, Red Lion, Rutland ( good food here too) Lost Industries Tap.

Perfect walk from station to away end.
 
The Globe and The Howard are literally bang across from the train station, heavy police presence, very much the away pubs

I hadn’t realised that “Wildo” played for Brighton. It was his last port of call before Halifax and management.
I’d settle for a repeat of the 1989/90 home game, which, frighteningly, was before the Berlin Wall came down.....

PS We don’t really call him Wildo, just kidding :)

Penny Black is the opposite direction to the ground from the station, and not a recommended away fans pub as far as I know.

Howard across from the station welcomes away fans, but is a bit studenty and bland. If you are coming by car you could visit the pubs round Kelham Island

Would second the Dev Cat and Beer Engine. Also the Sheaf Island, a Weatherspoons on Ecclesall Rd, the other side of Waitrose from the Beer Engine.

Also, if you are all gay you could try Dempsey's.
 
I worked in Brighton in the mid 1970's.

I had many an enjoyable night in the Spanish Lady in Saltdean.

Thanks for Ollie Norwood, can't believe he only cost us £2.5m , you had your pants well and truly pulled down when we signed him.

As for pubs, I would also recommend the Triple Point Brewery, only 5 mins walk to the ground once you've supped up.

White lion/Crown/Brothers arms/sheaf view around the chesterfield road area, no idiots around these pubs (well fighting kind of idiots anyway!) all real ale pubs or a good selection anyway and a friendly crowd. Half decent for parking and around 5-10 minute walk from the ground depending how much you’ve had to drink. Also curry houses open after the game if you find yourself hungry
