Has developed brilliantly.

Peterborough probably want £85m.

Lots of teams priced out of a move, their chairman wanted upwards of £10m apparently.

Fuck doing business with him.

Everyone in football should get on the same page and let him lose all his players for free instead.

The ridiculous asking price is the reason why there was no serious interest in him during the JTW.

The next logical progression for him would be to a decent Champ club but I doubt any Champ club would be able to afford him and he'd be a big risk for a Prem club to take.

When Carl Cort went for 7 million 20 years ago I don't have a problem with them wanting eight figures here

let’s be fair. Why shouldn’t he hold out for what he wants. He’s negotiated better than we ever have for players - fair play to him, there is always gonna be a desperate club willing to pay.

I suspect they also scout better than 90% of the football league too.

between 3-5 million would be a fair price to pay with add-ons, Marriott joined Derby for £3m from Peterborough 2 years ago

£10 million would make him a League one record signing above Delph, Lookman, Gayle, Assombalonga and Dele Alli... blow and bluster from Darragh

Carl Cort! Now that is a blast from the past. Is that the guy who moved for a stupid amount and was a failure or am I getting him mixed up with someone else?

For me he’s starting to move higher up the list of who I want as a striker for us next season.

Peterborough have a great record of picking up young strikers cheaply and selling them on at a great profit.
BLADES ANALYTICS is on there payroll now maybe he could shed a light in how they do it.

They've been using his data and similar as part of their scouting system for some time. They have had a very clear recruitment policy for some time. Bit like we have now ☺

Fair price for who? Because Peterborough feel he’s worth more than that to them. He could be the difference in them getting promotion. Would you sell John Egan for £40 million back in January because it’s a fair price? Then go on to lose every game and get relegated? How would that £40 million fair price seem then?

All this ‘we can’t keep them because a bigger club has come in and he wants to go’ is bollocks. If a club don’t want to sell a player under contract they don’t have to. The player has no choice, they can sulk and kick off but the club holds the cards, not the player.

Many many instances of clubs standing firm when bigger clubs from higher leagues have come knocking.

Yeah it's difficult, no-one is pretending otherwise, but our former owner made out it was mandatory to sell in that instance.

Spot on. ⚔️

Celtic and Brentford in for him... Toney’s had a brilliant season, 26 in 39 not to be sniffed at at any level of the FL... he’s not PL level yet but i see this as the kind of punt we might need to take this transfer window, big and strong but would need adjustment time

We would need to sign Watkins first for Brentford to buy him. 😏😉

Huddersfield took a punt on Karlan Grant - he was playing in League One but scored goals in the Premier League when he got a chance.
